The "antics" of House Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene are "getting worse and worse and worse" according to Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia, who also accused the Georgia congresswoman of being "a traitor to the country" during a recent media appearance.
Garcia, who shares three committee assignments with Greene and is a regular sparring partner, made the comments during an interview with MeidasTouch, a self-styled "pro-democracy news outlet."
Speaking to MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas in an interview published on Saturday, Garcia discussed Greene's behavior in congress. He said: "Her antics are just getting worse and worse and worse. You've seen she's trying to impeach just about everybody from the president to every single cabinet secretary.
"She's has no idea what she's actually doing, has no respect amongst any of her colleagues and is a really destructive force, but that's the Republican party."
On November 13, a bid by Greene to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas failed in the House by 209 votes to 201, with eight of her Republican colleagues joining Democrats to vote down the motion. Greene had accused Mayorkas of having "aided and abetted the complete invasion of our country by deliberately flooding our nation with drugs, terrorists, and illegals."
Greene has also launched repeated attempts to impeach President Joe Biden. The first filed in January 2021 on the first full day of his presidency. In September, an impeachment inquiry into Biden, potentially leading to an impeachment trial, was initiated by then Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
During the interview, Meiselas criticized Greene for being part of a House Republican delegation that in March visited some of the defendants in jail who had been arrested at the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill riot.
He commented: "The MAGA Republicans sent a congressional delegation, which normally you send a congressional delegation to visit democracies abroad, share best practices, promote democracy and fledgling democracies.
"Their major congressional delegation was to the D.C. jail to chant 'lets go Brandon' and play fricking games with terrorists, with insurrectionists, and then they release a song, a musical that they play on Apple with the J6 choir which they play instead of the national anthem.
"I mean when you went from mayor to member of the House of Representatives you must be going 'how the hell is this happening in the United States of America?'"

Garcia agreed with Meiselas' assessment, replying: "100 percent it's crazy. She obviously has no business being in Congress and is completely in my opinion a traitor to the country."
Greene and Garcia both serve on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, the House Committee on Homeland Security and the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Newsweek has reached out to Rep. Greene for comment by telephone and voicemail message.
In March "Justice for All," a song by the January 6 Choir of around 20 men imprisoned over the Capitol Hill riot, was released and went to number one on the iTunes chart. Featuring the national anthem, intercut with Trump reciting the pledge of allegiance, it has been played at a number of rallies hosted by the former president and 2024 Republican frontrunner.
