Mark Hoppus has received an outpouring of support from his Blink-182 bandmates, after revealing he's been diagnosed with cancer.

Bassist and singer Hoppus, 49, revealed his diagnosis on Wednesday, in a Twitter post that read: "For the past three months I've been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

"I have cancer. It sucks and I'm scared, and at the same time I'm blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.

"I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can't wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all."

Soon after the post was shared, his Blink-182 bandmate Travis Barker told E! News: "Mark is my brother and I love and support him. I will be with him every step of the way on stage and off and can't wait for us to play together again soon."

Barker also took to his Instagram story to share a snapshot of himself embracing Hoppus, adding the caption: "Love you @markhoppus."

Tom DeLonge, who was in the band until 2015, wrote on Twitter in reaction to the news: "I too, have been aware of @markhoppus's cancer diagnosis for awhile now.

"And to add to his own words that he used today, I would also like to say that he is strong, and a super-human who is pushing through this difficult obstacle with a wide-open heart. 👊🏼#WeHaveHisBack."

TV personality Carson Daly, who got to know the band during his days as the host of MTV's TRL, also expressed his support for Hoppus.

"I'm thinking & praying for my friend @markhoppus from @blink182 who announced he's fighting cancer," Daly wrote on Instagram. "We may not speak everyday, but I hold in my heart such incredible memories of a time long ago, when we shared a stage & a mic doing what we both loved so much.

"I've always been such a fan. You're one of the best people I've met in the business & know you will kick the s*** out of this & be back rocking in no time. I'm here, we're all here, right with you on this fight.

"Stay positive & you'll beat this thing with the same ease that you Tom & Trav had when you ran naked around the MTV studios back in the day. Love you bro. You got this."

In a post on his Instagram stories late Wednesday, Hoppus shared an image that showed him sitting in a medical facility as he underwent treatment.

Captioning the snapshot, he wrote: "Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please."

Before disclosing his diagnosis, Hoppus celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the release of Blink-182's acclaimed album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket.

He wrote: "Hell yes. 20 years ago today 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' came out. After the overwhelming and unexpected success of 'Enema of the State' we wanted to write a darker, harder album that pushed the boundaries of what blink-182 could do. I love this record.

"Thank you to everyone who listened to it then and continues to put it on two decades later. ♥️🙏🏻 Endless love to @travisbarker @tomdelonge and Jerry Finn."
