After over two years off of our screens, Midge (played by Rachel Brosnahan) is coming back to Amazon Prime Video for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4. And after getting dropped from Shy Baldwin's tour last season, she's pretty ticked off.

The plot of Season 4 kicks off directly after this major stumbling block—and as the trailer revealed, it leaves Midge trying to become a headline act in her own right so she never has to deal with similar humiliation again.

After the release date of the new episodes, fans will get to meet a couple of new characters, including a This Is Us heartthrob, an actor that viewers may recognize from Gilmore Girls (a show also created by Amy Sherman-Palladino).

Read on to find out when you can watch the new episodes online, who is joining the cast, and where the story is set to go for this fourth installment.

For its new season, Amazon Prime Video is giving us a new release strategy for the comedy.

Previously, the streamer has released all eight episodes of each season at once. This time, it is releasing two episodes a week for the four weeks after its release date.

This means that the show has the following release schedule:

  • Episodes 1 and 2: February 18
  • Episodes 3 and 4: February 25
  • Episodes 5 and 6: March 4
  • Episodes 7 and 8: March 11

As with most streaming releases, episodes are set to come out at 3 a.m. ET.

Joining them for Season 4 are This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia and Gilmore Girls' Kelly Bishop. Though Amazon did not reveal who they both were playing, the former told E!: "a well-dressed man with a dog in a park talking to" Midge. He calls his scene a "brief memorable moment," before teasing it was "possibly to be repeated."

In a TVLine interview, Maisel executive producer Daniel Palladino teased that Bishop's character was like Gilmore Girls' frosty Emily Gilmore but "on steroids."

What Will Happen in 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Season 4?

Per the official Amazon bio: "Season 4 begins in 1960, and looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom, but her commitment to her craft creates a rift between her and her loved ones."

The season begins shortly after her biggest professional humiliation—when she was dumped from Baldwin's tour for essentially outing him on stage (which, to be fair, was a pretty tasteless move).

Rather than learning not to bite the hand that feeds her however, Midge decides to be the hand—that is, she tells Susie that from now on, she wants to be the headline act, so she can say whatever she wants (which definitely has no parallels to certain comedians' reactions to so-called "cancel culture" today...).

Elsewhere, the Weissmans find themselves in another new home, with Abe and Rose moving into Midge's former Upper West Side apartment—which, of course, causes plenty of friction between the family members if the trailers are anything to go by...
