"This is the best flipping Christmas morning I've ever had in my life," Mary Trump said moments after Donald Trump's guilty verdict in his criminal hush money trial was announced.
In a Thursday evening "emergency" Nerd Avengers meeting hosted on her YouTube channel, Mary Trump, an estranged niece and frequent critic of the former president, celebrated the live guilty verdict.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, faced trial in New York City following an investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office. The investigation led to a March 2023 indictment on 34 counts of falsifying business records. He was accused of attempting to conceal hush money paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels by his then-lawyer and "fixer" Michael Cohen during his 2016 presidential campaign.

On Thursday, a jury handed down a guilty verdict on all 34 felony counts. Trump becomes the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a crime and now faces possible jail time, which will be determined at his July 11 sentencing, just days before the Republican National Convention.
"Donald J. Trump has been found guilty of 34 criminal charges in the very first of hopefully many more criminal trials this lifetime criminal will face," Mary Trump said on the show.
She described the verdict as "vindication for every single citizen of New York State and every single American."
Processing the verdict live, she added: "Thank God—I don't even know what to do with myself right now."
Mary Trump read through the counts as they came in, later saying that "we cannot overstate the vast importance of what just happened" in finding the former president guilty on all 34 counts. The U.S. Constitution does not prohibit a convicted candidate from running for president from jail.
With a colleague referring to the moment as "Christmas morning," Mary Trump said, "this is the best flipping Christmas morning I've ever had in my life." She called her uncle a "scumbag" who "finally got what was coming to him—granted in a very limited way."
She read aloud Trump's Truth Social post: "THIS WAS A DISGRACE—A RIGGED TRIAL BY A CONFLICTED JUDGE WHO IS CORRUPT. WE WILL FIGHT FOR OUR CONSTITUTION—THIS IS LONG FROM OVER!" Then she said to "get some new material, Donald, would be my advice to you."
Newsweek reached out to Mary Trump via email on Friday for comment.
Later Thursday evening, she appeared on CNN Newsnight and said: "I absolutely think he should go to jail," not just for the dozens of guilty counts but because "of his egregious behavior during the course of this trial," in reference to breaking his gag order numerous times.
