In what is likely a dream job for many, a company is willing to pay you the big bucks for simply watching TikTok videos.
Feeling guilty for spending hours tiring your thumbs out, endlessly scrolling through TikTok, is now seemingly a thing of the past, with companies continuously offering money for the habit.
Construction supplier marketplace MaterialsMarket.com is offering an hourly rate of £50 ($66.11) for a TikTok Hack Reviewer.
In a bid to expand its on-site content, the site is looking to hire a DIY-inclined individual to sit and watch TikTok hacks, compiling a list of the most popular, useful ones on the app.
Materials Market buyers deal directly with suppliers in the construction industry, matching items based on ideal prices and delivery times. Despite being a UK company, the role is remote and so open to candidates elsewhere too, including the US.
"The 'TikTok Hack Reviewer' will be expected to be on the lookout for trending hacks that involve DIY, construction, and hands-on crafts, and to make a note of them to provide back to their employer," explained Materials Market.
After receiving the specially compiled list, the team will then use them to provide guidance to site visitors on just how effective the popular hacks are.
Candidates simply need a device compatible with TikTok, but the company is willing to cover a month's expenses for Wi-Fi. Although digital skills and content creation experience are desirable, they are not a necessity. With DIY knowledge being favoured over the previous skills, they are able to provide written training.
Up to 10 hours of work are up for grabs, meaning a grand total of £500 ($661.10) possible. Applicants simply need to apply online. The closing date is December 22, and the role will begin in January.
"We've all seen hacks online—especially DIY ones—that can be useful but on the other hand, ones that are not reliable at all and can result in disaster! This is a perfect way to use a fun platform such as TikTok to further the Materials Market ethos and make the lives of DIY enthusiasts and wannabe home renovators a bit easier with our on-site guides," said Andrew Haehn, co-founder of MaterialsMarket.com.
"I am absolutely certain that this is going to be a dream job for many—since a lot of people tend to waste time on TikTok for free—so I recommend getting applications in as early as possible."
