Meghan Should Heal Rift With Father Because Her Children 'Have No Family'

Meghan Markle should "go to her father" despite a four-year feud because he "might die," Sharon Osbourne said.

The Duchess of Sussex and Thomas Markle fell-out after he was caught seemingly staging paparazzi pictures for money in the days before her May 2018 royal wedding to Prince Harry.

Meghan has reportedly not spoken to him since then, bar a letter which he later leaked to The Mail on Sunday.

Thomas Markle was taken to hospital on Monday, May 23, after experiencing stroke-like symptoms, his daughter Samantha Markle said.

Sharon Osbourne opened up about her struggle with her father on the UK's Talk TV show "The Talk," not to be confused with the CBS chat show of the same name.

Osbourne said: "You just think about her children. They have no family. They have their grandmother, Meghan's mum. That's it. There's no cousins, no aunts and uncles, no other grand parents.

"There's two little babies who have grown up, they won't know their cousins because they're not growing up with them. Just think about those kids. No family, mum, dad and one grandma. And that is a terrible thing.

"But the other thing is, should she go to her father? Yes she should. I didn't talk to my father for 18 years, okay. He used me in his companies and all of that.

"Millions and millions I had to pay because my father got me in the crap. But, the situation is when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's I went to him and took care of him because he's my father."

Markle Sr. has apparently experienced a stroke in the speech production part of the right side of his brain, leaving him struggling to talk and swallow, his eldest daughter Samantha Markle said in a recent interview.

Doctors believe he will recover the ability to speak in six months to a year with the help of a speech therapist, she added.

Osbourne said: "You would hope that she [Meghan] would say 'my father might die and I want to make peace before he dies.'"

The comments came on May 26 shortly before Samantha Markle returned to U.K. television to tell Good Morning Britain the door is always open should the duchess want to reach out.

On May 30, Samantha said: "He loves all of us and he's been bashed in the media for always speaking out to extend an olive branch to reach out to her. He is her father so he has a right to reach out to her.

"He has been very honest and open in those feelings and the door is wide open.

"She's always had his phone number, it hasn't changed, and his address, so any suggestion that she doesn't know how to get hold of him and that she wanted to be private is somewhat ridiculous on the grounds that if you want to reach out to your father privately you know how to do it.
