Two prominent Meghan Markle critics have gone viral on Twitter after getting separate instances of backlash following Queen Elizabeth II's death.
First, GB News host Dan Wootton was mocked for recording four takes of a video showing him leaving a bouquet of flowers at Buckingham Palace this past Saturday. Now, Windsors biographer Angela Levin has become the latest royal commentator to experience blowback for months of criticism of the duchess of Sussex.
Four months ago, Wootton accused Markle of a "tacky photo opportunity" while criticizing the Duchess of Sussex for visiting Uvalde, Texas, to pay tribute to the 19 students and two adults killed in the Robb Elementary School shooting. In his tweet, Wootton noted that Markle "refused to see her stroke-stricken dad a couple of hours away."

As for Levin, during a Monday appearance on the Rupert Murdoch-owned TalkTV channel she said Markle was not fit to be a royal during a panel talk. The participants were discussing the duchess and Prince Harry's walkabout on Saturday to meet well-wishers at Windsor Castle.
Levin said: "Well she's not fit because she does not want to behave as if she's the wife of the sixth in line to the throne."
She continued: "She likes to lead. She likes it to be all about her. She wants to be out there in front. I don't mean she's not fit because she's not clever enough or beautiful enough or anything like that, but she just hated it."
Her latest criticisms come after she was accused in 2021 by data analysis firm Bot Sentinel of interacting with social media accounts that spread conspiracy theories about Markle.
TalkTV Presenter Vanessa Feltz, a household name in Britain, confronted Levin about her views during the segment.
"Do you feel any guilt?" she asked. "Do you feel that you have been responsible for fueling a kind of anti-Meghan faction that has been spiteful and targeting and possibly fanciful as well. Quite a lot of what's been said about her has been pretty much manufactured anyway."
Levin replied, "Well, it's up to you what you think of me." Feltz then responded, "I'm asking you whether you think that of yourself."
Levin said, "Well, of course not, because I think the talking to Oprah Winfrey was a disgrace. There were at least 17 lies there. I think she's attacked the royals [which is] completely unnecessary. I think she's changed Harry to be a sort of walking victim."
Feltz replied: "But that means you consider him to be a sap? Someone so malleable, and of course he's served very bravely in mortal combat. He's not the kind of guy who can be pushed around, is he?"
At that point, the discussion appeared to break down, with Levin saying, "I don't have to justify myself to you. I'm not in court."
She later accused Feltz of "attacking" her and suggesting the host should not have invited her on the show.
Levin told Newsweek: "I don't think that her behavior went with being an interviewer. She was very aggressive and determined to try and squash me."
