Michael Rapaport Accuses Kevin Durant of Threatening Him Over TNT Interview

Actor Michael Rapaport has publicly accused basketball player Kevin Durant of threatening him.

Rapaport made his accusation in a Twitter post published on Tuesday. The post included screenshots from a series of private messages, allegedly exchanged between Rapaport and Durant around December 23, 2020.

"I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams did I think @KDTrey5 would be among them," Rapaport's Tuesday tweet said. "The (snake emoji) himself is now threatening me, bringing up my wife and wants to fight. This is supposed to be America's sweetheart right? #ImDaRealMVP".

In the post's attached screenshots, Durant seems angered by Rapaport's December 22, 2020 tweet. The tweet said, "KD seemed deeply in his feelings with the @NBAonTNT crew after the game. DAMNIT he's super sensitive about everything. Don't do the interview".

Durant, who goes by his initials KD, plays for the Brooklyn Nets. On December 22, 2020, the team beat the Golden State Warriors with a score of 125-99. Durant spoke to the cable network TNT in a post-game interview. Rapaport referenced the interview in his December 22, 2020 tweet.

The alleged December 23, 2020 text message exchange between the two men seemingly began with Durant showing Rapaport his critical tweet from the day before. Durant allegedly commented, "U a bitch."

Rapaport allegedly responded, "Just do the f*cking interview & if your upset about something they've said SAY SOMETHING. Up there looking like you were gonna cry & shit".

Later in the text exchange, Durant seemingly referred to Rapaport as a "clown", a "c*nt", a "p*ssy", a "bitch ass", a "piece of shit" and a "pale pasty cum guzzling bitch." He also allegedly told Rapaport to "suck a d*ck" and seemingly added, "All you do is c*ck suck other men for attention."

In the exchange, Durant appeared to challenge Rapaport to a fight on a public street corner. In response, Rapaport wrote, "Go help the kids in BROWNSVILLE BROOKLYN & stop being a f*cking Puzz". Rapaport later referred to Durant as a "GoofBall."

Durant then referred to Rapaport's failed court battle against David Portnoy, founder of the satirical sports and pop culture website Barstool Sports. Portnoy fired Rapaport from his role as a site podcaster in February 2018, after Rapaport mocked the website's fans on Twitter.

Shortly after the firing, the website began selling t-shirts that depicted Rapaport as a clown with a red nose and a red blemish just above his chin. In response, Rapaport sued for defamation, alleging that the shirt insinuated that he had herpes, an oral infection that affects 67 percent of the world population, according to the World Health Organization.

On Tuesday, a judge dismissed the defamation suit, stating that the shirt didn't seem to imply that Rapaport had herpes or any other sexually transmitted infection.

"U couldn't talk portnoy talking sh*t? Defamation of character??? ... P*ssy ass wanna lawyer up. Your wife mad as f*ck cuz u wasting that little bit of money on a lawyers cuz u can't take a joke. How p*ssy are u. Your wife doesn't even respect your bitch ass," Durant allegedly wrote to Rapaport in the exchange.

Portnoy noticed Rapaport's Wednesday tweet, and posted his own tweet containing a screenshot from the alleged exchange.

"Love Kevin Durant feeding it to Rappaport. Rap will prob sue him now for being a meanie pants", Portnoy commented.

Newsweek contacted Durant and Rapaport's representatives for comment.
