Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maine Power Outages Map, Updates as Thousands Left Without Power

Thousands of customers across northeastern U.S. have been left without power following severe thunderstorms on Sunday. The extreme weather saw millions in New York face tornado warnings, as the surrounding areas suffered high winds and heavy rain, resulting in fallen trees and downed power lines.

Around 424,000 customers across Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maine are without power, at the time of writing.

Michigan Power Outages

In the region of 200,000 customers in Michigan are experiencing power outages, with DTE Energy and Consumers Energy the most impacted.

DTE Energy

DTE Energy says that as of 6 a.m. local time, approximately 149,000 customers were without power. Power Outage US reports that Wayne County was the most impacted, with 66,000 customers without power, while Oakland had 41,000 affected customers, and Macomb had 19,000.

Late on Sunday, approximately 262,000 DTE Energy customers were impacted by the storm in southeastern Michigan. High winds and rain caused around 1,000 downed power lines and 191,000 outages, according to DTE.

On Twitter, DTE Energy said: "DTE crews are actively assessing and repairing damage, and are working to restore power to impacted customers."

Consumers Energy

Consumers Energy reports that around 27,000 customers are without power. According to Power Outage US, Allegan is the worst affected county with 2,300 customers without power, while there are around 2,200 customers in Calhoun without power, Midland has 2,000, and Kalamazoo has 1,900.

Consumers Energy said that as of 6 a.m. today, crews have restored power to approximately 57,000 customers.

Ohio Power Outages

In Ohio, around 100,000 customers are without power, with First Energy and American Electric Power Ohio customers impacted the most.

First Energy

Around 81,000 First Energy customers are without power, including 30,000 in Cuyahoga county. Other counties badly affected include Geauga, Lake, Portage, and Summit.

American Electric Power Ohio

According to American Electric Power Ohio, at the height of the storm 75,000 customers were without power. Now, according to Power Outage US, around 13,000 customers are without power, with nearly 3,000 Franklin county residents affected and nearly 2,000 Tuscarawas county customers affected.

Pennsylvania Power Outages

In Pennsylvania, 57,000 residents are without power. First Energy customers are the worst affected, but thousands of Central Electric Cooperative, Duquesne Light Company, PPL Electric Utilities, and United Electric Coop customers are also without power.

First Energy

Nearly 40,000 First Energy customers in Pennsylvania. Thousands of customers across Berks, Bradford, Butler, Crawford, Erie, Forest, McKean, Monroe, Venango, Warren, Washington, and Westmoreland customers are without power.

New York Power Outages

In New York, around 37,000 customers are without power. New York State Electric and Gas and National Grid customers are the worst affected, making up 26,000 of the affected customers.

Around 11,000 NYSEG customers in Erie County are without power, with more than a thousand customers in Cattaraugus and Westchester counties.

National Grid

Around 4,500 NYSEG customers in Erie County are without power, while more than 2,000 are without power in Chautauqua and more than 1,000 customers in Cattaraugus and Niagara counties without power.

Maine

About 22,000 Maine residents are without power, according to Power Outage US.

Central Maine Power

Approximately 20,000 Central Maine Power customers are currently without power, with 7,000 Cumberland residents affected, and thousands more across Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Kennebec, Knox, Waldo, and York counties.
