MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell received some negative news from Jimmy Kimmel this week after inviting the late night talk show host to attend his upcoming telethon.

During a recent episode of, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host spoke about recent invitations he has received from Lindell to attend the telethon, where he is seeking to raise money to pay for legal fees as he is facing several lawsuits relating to the 2020 election.

Kimmel showed highlights of Lindell saying he was planning to invite Kimmel.

"Mike's having financial difficulties right now so he's [holding] some kind of a telethon, a Mike Lindell-athon, if you will, to raise money for his defense fund and guess who he very much wants to be on that telethon?" Kimmel said.

In the clips shown, Lindell can be heard talking about flying Kimmel to the event.

"You still have a plane? How is that possible? I love you Mike, but I'm sorry, I'm not going to be part of a telethon for anyone who has a plane. By plane, he means a Spirit Airlines flight out of Burbank, right?" Kimmel said jokingly.

Lindell's legal team representing him in a case brought by Dominion Voting Systems, filed a motion this month to withdraw their counsel due to unpaid legal fees.

"On October 2, 2023, PDK was informed by Defendants that they are not able to get caught up with or make any payment on the large amount they owe in arrears nor pay for anywhere near the estimated expense of continuing to defend against the lawsuits going forward, including either the legal fees or litigation costs," members of the Parker Daniels Kibort LLC (collectively PDK), wrote in a motion. "At this time, Defendants are in arrears by millions of dollars to PDK."

After the motion was filed and approved by a judge, Lindell told Newsweek that all the money he has made has been spent on legal fees following the lawsuit brought by Dominion, as well as another lawsuit from Smartmatic voting systems, citing comments he made about the firms following the 2020 election.

"We haven't been able to pay them [lawyers] for the past couple of months," Lindell said. "These lawyers were courageous, they took on a case where every other lawyer in this country are afraid to take on any case against the electronic voting machines and the evil that's out there. This was a great group of attorneys...and they need to get paid and if there's no money to pay them, they can't keep going."

Newsweek reached out to MyPillow on Thursday for further comment from Lindell.
