One mother-in-law has been widely praised online after her son's new wife posted a glowing video about their close relationship.
In a viral TikTok video, a woman posting under the handle @lani-baker raved about her mother-in-law Julie's love and support, saying she didn't understand people not getting along with their in-laws.
"I will never understand hating your mother-in-law because I have Julie. Two months after I got married, Julie pulled me aside and asked me if there was anything her son was doing wrong," the TikToker posted. "A holiday is coming up? Julie says 'you guys do whatever is best for you, no pressure to see us.'"
She continued: "Julie is the kind of MIL (mother-in-law) who brings you a hand-picked peony because she knows they're your favorite flower. Be like Julie when your son gets married."

Her experience certainly clashes with many people who do, in fact, report having difficult relationships with their mothers-in-law. According to a 2022 study published in the Evolutionary Psychological Science journal, 44 percent of men and women reported having more conflict with their mothers-in-law compared to 39 percent with their own.
Since being shared on August 12, the TikTok post has attracted an impressive 5.7 million views and more than 554,600 likes online. The overwhelming majority of the thousands of comments received on the video praised Julie and her supportive nature.
Others bemoaned their poor relationships with their own mothers-in-law and wished they had someone like Julie in their lives.
TikTok user Karissa Wright said: "Wish I had a Julie. Really grieving the mother-in-law I got. I will be a Julie when my boys get married though."
Kendall Cardoza posted: "Julie is rare, you are blessed with her."
Maceface16 added: "Tbh (to be honest) I think it depends if MIL loves her own hubby or not. Happy moms don't rely on their children for happiness, but a lot of unhappy ones."
Gigielle commented: "Yes. I don't have this, but I'm determined to be this when my son gets married. What a blessing to be a blessing to your kids' spouses."

Videos involving in-laws often go viral on social media, sometimes racking up millions of views. Millions watched a video posted by @bayley.rose.smelly.toes earlier this month that showed the hilarious moment a dog screams after mistaking his owner's brother-in-law who was in the house for an intruder.
The high-pitched sound that woke up the owner's baby left the internet perplexed, as many people commented they had never heard a dog make a noise like that before.
