The question on the lips of millions of social media users is: Did Harry Styles actually spit on Chris Pine?— and one mystery woman may hold the answer.
The alleged incident occurred at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival as co-stars Styles and Pine sat down next to each other for the Don't Worry Darling world premiere. Pine's representatives have since strongly denied the incident in a statement.
Amid speculation of a mass cast fallout and ongoing tension, Pine seemed to react after Styles subtly spat on him. The moment was caught from multiple angles and watched millions of times online, but everyone seems to want to see an unseen video filmed by a nearby spectator.

As well as the latest moment between Pine and Styles, there have been other noteworthy moments between the cast in the build up to the release of Don't Worry Darling. Boyfriend and girlfriend, actor and director, Styles and Olivia Wilde turned up separately to the film festival, while Florence Pugh seemed to avoid many of the co-stars amid all the talk of tension.
Videos of Styles entering the screening for Don't Worry Darling and allegedly "spitting" on Pine as he sits down have gone viral across social media. Some observant users have noticed that an even better angle will be available somewhere, as a woman sitting directly behind the pair seemingly filmed the interaction.

"We need her testimony," @ThisAlbertoCox wrote in all caps on Twitter, focusing on a woman sat behind Pine and Styles, seemingly taking pictures or a video with her phone. She did not have her phone out at the time of the alleged spit, but she was the closest to the incident except for Wilde, who was looking the other way at the time.
Others retweeted the message to identify the woman in an effort to extract her phone footage. "What is the point of the CIA and NSA if we cannot get her footage?" joked @mvelaseP while @TheKimbino simply said, "Subpoena her."
@1KDavis noticed there was a second person sat a few rows back who also had their phone out, with the camera seemingly pointed at the incident. "And this person with the brown phone cover!" They wrote, "What. Is. Going. On. ????"

As "#Spitgate" started to trend on Twitter, more angles started to emerge as another video from a diagonal angle showed Styles' motion as he sat next to Pine. Many also made a reference to "The Zapruder film," which was the video that film JFK's assassination.
"This person's video is the Zapruder film for film twitter," Tweeter and podcaster @lewisjwr wrote. "We need to see this angle to determine if Harry Styles spat on Chris Pine #SpitGate." This reference led many to suggest there was a conspiracy theory that there may have been a "second spitter."
Newsweek reached out to Styles and Pine's team for comments. Representatives for Styles pointed to statements made by Pine's team that strongly denied the alleged "spitting" incident.
When replying to a request for comment, Styles representatives pointed to a statement made by Pine's team. "This is a ridiculous story—a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation," they told People.
"Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine," the rep continued. "There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist."
Update 09/07/22, 11:15 a.m. ET: This article was updated to include a statement from Pine's representatives at the request of Styles' team.
