The Patriots Dynasty Gets 'The Last Dance' Treatment With New Docuseries

No matter which side you're on, it's impossible to overlook a pro sports dynasty.

If your favorite team is winning the titles, then it's an absolute blast—the next season can't arrive soon enough. And if you're a rival fan watching a hated opponent pile up the wins, it's an incredibly frustrating experience. Either way, though, you probably have an opinion.

Let's test that out. How do you feel about Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots?

Love or hate them, you probably respect their collective accomplishments. And before long, you'll get an inside look at the rise and fall of that dynasty.

On November 17, Apple TV+ released a teaser trailer for the 10-part docuseries, The Dynasty: The New England Patriots. The clip features a voice-over from owner Robert Kraft, talking about how he knew things were nearing the end and how he tried "to hold it together the best [he] could."

His quote, combined with some previous framing about how Brady and Belichick were "two alphas" bound to clash, suggests an inside look at how the two living legends ultimately parted ways. And given how forthcoming both men can be—TB12 has loosened up a bit, but Belichick can still be prickly when faced with a microphone—this level of access certainly seems intriguing.

But you can't tell a story by only focusing on the end. There were, of course, plenty of successes.

"Set to premiere globally Friday, February 16, The Dynasty: New England Patriots brings together former quarterback Tom Brady, coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft as they give the definitive story of the team's remarkable reign. The docuseries explores the franchise's 20-year journey, from the unique chemistry that fueled six Super Bowl wins to the internal strife that sparked a turf war. From the owner's suite to the locker room, the series reveals an insider's look at the road to—and cost of—greatness," a news release explained.

Beyond access to those three men, the series will also draw upon "thousands of hours of never-before-seen video footage and audio files from the Patriots organization's archive. In addition to interviews with past and present Patriots players, coaches and executives, the unparalleled access includes Kraft, Belichick, Brady, and confessionals from league officials and the archrivals of this dominant sports dynasty."

Barring an incredible turnaround, the Patriots won't reach the playoffs this year, let alone the Super Bowl. Belichick's time in Foxborough could be running out. Brady, of course, left New England and ultimately retired, leaving a hole under center that still hasn't been filled.

But, less than a week after the Big Game, the Pats' dynasty will be back in the spotlight. And whether you loved them or hated them, they're impossible to ignore.
