Josh Hammer
Newsweek Senior Editor-at-Large And Host,
"The Josh Hammer Show"

Welcome back. The news right now just gets worse and worse every week, it seems. Where will it all end? In any event, here are some highlights from the past week.

My most recent column discussed the harrowing rise in antisemitism seen in Western countries in recent weeks in the aftermath of Israel's righteous counteroffensive launched against Hamas following the terrorist outfit's barbaric pogrom on Oct. 7. The unfathomable depravity we are now seeing on U.S. college campuses, combined with the equally unfathomable things we are seeing in marches and demonstrations everywhere from London to Sydney to Chicago, tragically underscores the sheer idiocy of liberal, open-borders immigration policies. For decades, Western elites have tried to offset plummeting birthrates by importing large numbers of foreigners from different cultures and of profoundly different religious and ethnic backgrounds who simply do not share Western values. There are now monsters in our midst, and our elites are largely to blame.

For my most recent show episode, I provided an update on the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and what the U.S. role in the region might look like in the weeks ahead, discussed the horrifying rise in antisemitism throughout the Western world and the manifold failures of liberal immigration policy that are now undeniable, analyzed the dwindling 2024 GOP presidential primary field in light of former Vice President Mike Pence's weekend announcement that he is ending his campaign, and more. You can listen to that episode on Apple, Spotify or here. I also have some exciting news to share related to my show: We are now officially on the radio! Beginning this weekend, you can tune in on Saturdays at 6:00 PM PDT/9:00 PM EDT and Sundays at 8:00 AM PDT/11:00 AM EDT to AM 770 KTTH (Seattle) to hear the latest episode of "The Josh Hammer Show." If you are a radio station manager interested in bringing my show to your station, please email Jesse Edwards: j.edwards@newsweek.com.

In terms of other media hits and appearances since our last newsletter, I appeared on the premiere episode of "Florida's Voice with Brendon Leslie" to talk all things Florida- and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.)-related; filled in on Monday, Oct. 30 for Jason Rantz on the eponymous "Jason Rantz Show" on AM 770 KTTH (Seattle), and you can listen here to hour 1, hour 2, and hour 3 of the program; and had my monthly appearance on the always-entertaining "Steak for Breakfast Podcast," where we had a lengthy discussion about the war in Gaza, skyrocketing antisemitism all around the world, and more.

In terms of public speaking appearances, I returned home last Thursday from a trip out West to Colorado and Wyoming, where I had three speaking engagements. Next week, I'm on the road again for Federalist Society speaking engagements at Yale Law School on Tuesday and Roger Williams University School of Law on Wednesday.

Our additional highlighted right-leaning Newsweek op-eds from the past week include selections from Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Amnon Shefler, Aviva Klompas, and Lee Habeeb.

Thanks for subscribing. Please share the word about this newsletter throughout your social circles. We'll be back next week.

Emboldened Global Jihad Is Final Nail in Coffin of Mass Migration Delusion

The weeks since the Oct. 7 Hamas pogrom in Israel, in which the most Jews were slaughtered in a single day than at any time since World War II, have seen an astonishing rise in global Jew-hatred. One might have thought that the mass carnage and unspeakable barbarism of the Hamas Holocaust would instead galvanize a concerted pushback against Islamic jihadism, but it is the ancient scourge of antisemitism—and not so-called "Islamophobia"—that is once again the world's most politically correct and fashionable form of bigotry.

"In every generation they rise up to destroy us," Jews read in the Haggadah text every Passover, "but the Holy One, Blessed be He, delivers us from their hands." Now, less than 80 years since the defeat of Nazi Germany, today's Nazis, an Islamist Reich hellbent anew on Jewish genocide, rises up to try to finish what Hitler could not. Like their brownshirt forebears, the jihadists will fail.

Our comfort in the Lord does not necessarily ameliorate the profound pain of the last few weeks, though. For many Jews, the appalling and disgusting mass demonstrations of support for the Hamas terrorists have been just as devastating as the Oct. 7 pogrom itself.
