Welcome back! Here are some highlights from the past week.
My most recent column focused on the unfathomable rot in American higher education, which was exposed for the world to see last week during the galling congressional testimony of the presidents of Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), and MIT. The three ladies repeatedly refused to do the obvious: Clearly condemn those students and faculty members calling for the genocide—yes, literal genocide—of Jews, and to clarify that such inhumane and barbaric assertions run contrary to their respective universities' codes of conduct. This hearing, which is apparently now the most-watched hearing in the history of the U.S. Congress, finally provided something of a bipartisan recognition of something conservatives have been yelling from the hilltops for decades: Higher education is a cesspool of anti-Western, anti-American, anti-Christian, and anti-Jewish sentiment. During this festival of Chanukah (which ends Friday evening), we should seek inspiration in the Maccabees and raze to the ground our new, 21st-century Hellenizing oppressors: higher education.
For my most recent podcast episode, I unloaded on the Harvard, Penn, and MIT presidents for not plainly and unequivocally condemning those on their respective campuses calling for the genocide of Jews; was joined by Adam Andrzejewski, founder and CEO of OpenTheBooks.com, to discuss how American taxpayer dollars are being sent to state sponsors of terrorism abroad; and outlined the galling hypocrisy of the COP28 climate junket that just wrapped up in Dubai. You can listen to that episode on Apple, Spotify, or here. Also, a reminder: My show is now officially in radio! If you are a radio station manager interested in bringing my show to your station, please email my producer Jesse Edwards: j.edwards@newsweek.com.
In terms of other articles and media hits since our last newsletter, I have a new piece for the Daily Mail on Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff's unbelievably embarrassing (and since deleted) tweet wherein he completely botched the story of Chanukah; was quoted in a New York Times article on how the media will struggle (indeed, already is struggling) to objectively cover the 2024 presidential election; joined the U.K.-based "Shaun Attwood Podcast" to discuss contemporary cultural divides in the U.S. (gender ideology, critical race theory, immigration policy, and more); was quoted in a Just the News article on liberal elite hypocrisy at the COP28 climate junket (also the subject of another recent Daily Mail article of mine); joined "In Focus" on One America News Network to discuss the rampant Jew-hatred on America's university campuses; and joined "I'm Right w/ Jesse Kelly" on The First to discuss the new federal tax charges filed against presidential prodigal son Hunter Biden.
In terms of public appearances, I had a great time at last Thursday's panel at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., alongside my good friend Karol Markowicz (primarily of the New York Post) and Amy Swearer of Heritage, on the very timely topic of "Jewish Gun Ownership and Self-Defense." You can watch the full panel conversation here. We lit the Chanukah menorah inside the Heritage building immediately afterward—it was a beautiful, and meaningful, event.
Our additional highlighted right-leaning Newsweek op-eds from the past week include selections from Adam Candeub and Clare Morell; Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.); Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kans.); Bob Woodson; and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
Thanks for subscribing! Please share the word about this newsletter throughout your social circles. To my fellow Jews, I wish you a Chanukah sameach over these final two nights of the holiday. Also, on a very personal note: I'm getting married this Sunday, so wish me the best of luck in this very exciting new life chapter!
