Rapper Nicki Minaj has released a perfume that is the companion fragrance to her upcoming album of the same name, Pink Friday 2—but it's been criticized by people online.

The fragrance, which seemed to quickly sell out once Minaj fans realized it was available, is the sequel to the original Pink Friday perfume and contains notes of nectarine, pink mimosa and amber.

However, many people are unimpressed by the bottle, with some labeling it as "disturbing."

Newsweek reached out to a Minaj representative for comment via email on Monday.

"Nicki Minaj's new fragrance, 'Pink Friday 2,' available at JCPenney," the pop culture account Pop Crave posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

People were quick to share their thoughts in the replies, with many unimpressed with the packaging, which features pink hair, a gold face and a pink and blue bodice.

"Disturbing presentation tbh," one person wrote.

"Why does it have to look so cheap?" asked another.

"Bottle looks so stupid, old and cheap. I wouldn't ruin my fragrance collection with this dumb bottle," a third person commented.

A fourth added: "Cheap and tacky looking, predictably."

However, not everyone is unimpressed, as some people have shared how excited they are by the perfume.

"Will definitely buy it, can smell it already," a person commented.

"ICONIC AF," said another.

"Lowkey genius marketing," someone else wrote.

This comes after the "Starships" rapper revealed that she had "no idea" the product had already been released, responding to a fan on X who notified her that JCPenney has been selling the new perfume without her knowledge.

"I had no idea. Was informed of nothing. Didn't get a link to post. Just woke up one day & boom! Saw y'all discussing it," Minaj posted to the social media platform.

Minaj's Pink Friday 2.0 Eau De Parfum Spray was originally intended to be released on December 17 on Amazon before a JCPenney release on December 26. After releasing the fragrance early, fans have said the product can no longer be bought on the site, with many taking this to mean it's sold out.

"Noreen from my fragrance [company] advised that she'll be getting back to me [with] answers on this right away. Apparently she had no clue either. Go figure," Minaj continued.

"There clearly was some sort of mix up; but make no mistake, we are honored & grateful to have my official #PinkFriday2PERFUME @ #JCPenny. I'll get back to you guys to confirm the Amazon release date."

The fragrance release is set to accompany Minaj's upcoming fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2. The album is a follow-up to her acclaimed debut album, Pink Friday, which features the hit song "Super Bass."
