Paris Jackson, the 22-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, is starring in Habit. Folks aren't happy (over a quarter of a million to be exact) about the the upcoming film after a poster featuring Jackson impersonating Jesus was released. Now they have started a petition to stop the movie.

According to a press release for the film, the story follows "a street smart, party girl with a Jesus fetish [who] gets mixed up in a violent drug deal and finds a possible way out; by masquerading as a nun." In promotional pictures for the film, which is featured on the petition's page, Jackson poses as Jesus with a wavy bob and a nose ring.

The Change.org petition, which goes after Lionsgate and Warner Bros., has garnered over 270,000 signatures as of July 1. It originally launched around June 24.

"A new blasphemous Hollywood film is predicted to come out soon depicting Jesus as a lesbian woman," the petition states, incorrectly. "The film Habit stars Paris Jackson who plays the role of 'lesbian Jesus.'" Also, untrue.

However, they may be putting the cart before the horse. That's because distributors have yet to pick up the film, but the petition to stop it moving forward still stands. "Let's please spread awareness and wake people up to the Christianophobic garbage that is spread nowadays, but is somehow accepted and praised by society," the appeal concluded.

Supporters of the petition commented on its page, calling the upcoming film "disgusting" and "a total heresy." "This is absolutely disgusting! Shame on everyone involved in this film!!" one person wrote.

"Jesus Christ died for us. And now you trying to make something out of it. that is so wrong. Like why would this even come to thought about hanged Lord Jesus's classification as a joke?? That is so so rude and totally against the Christian religion," a second petitioner chimed in.

"I'm signing because portraying Christ as a lesbian is something that shouldn't even cross our lips. As well as it being a total heresy, an unthinkable one, it is full-on disgusting and wrong," a third wrote.

As per IMDb, the film, directed by Janell Shirtcliff, is currently in post-production and has yet to announce a release date. The film's producer, Donavan Leitch, told Fox News in April that the film will be in the vein of early Quentin Tarantino.

Joining Jackson in the cast are Bella Thorne (Midnight Sun) and Gavin Rossdale (The Bling Ring), plus musicians Josie Ho, Jamie Hince, Alison Mosshart, and model Andreja Pejic.

Newsweek did not receive comment from Paris Jackson at the time of publication.
