Long-haul flights can be challenging to endure for several reasons, not least the sheer boredom of the journey, which can affect an individual's mental and physical health.

A 2017 survey of passengers commissioned by London's Gatwick Airport found that 15 percent of men and 6 percent of women were more likely to cry while watching a film on a flight than if they were to watch that movie elsewhere, such as a cinema or at home.

According to a September 2022 study published in the Journal of Space Safety Engineering, "psychological health is seriously impacted when humans are in isolated environments for long periods of time."

The clip begins with people shown watching movies on the built-in screens on the backs of the plane seats, as a message overlaid on the video reads: "What normal people do on a 11 hour flight."

The video then cuts to various shots of a digital map shown on the backseat screen, as a message overlaid on the video reads: "What I do for the whole 11 hour flight."

The clip shows a plane icon on the screen, seen at different points along the flight journey, which appeared to be running from Dublin, Ireland, to Los Angeles, California.

Several TikTokers were amused by the latest viral video, with some relating to the original poster.

KelC wrote: "[crying laughing face emoji] Omg [oh my god] I thought I was the only one who did this."

Lisa Trimmer wrote: "I do that too. Gotta stay informed!" while the Reddit user wee granny catie posted: "my husband kept doing that drive me mental knowing how many hours we still had to go."

TikToker Aston villa commented: "I only watch map when is turbulence [crying laughing face emojis]."

Hania wrote: "counting down the hours left [emoji of crying face with floods of tears]," while Mrs_M_Explores posted: "Haha I did this all the way from Cancun [in Mexico] to London 😂 as it was so bumpy!"
