A conservative pastor from Mississippi has called Meghan Markle a narcissistic "Jezebel" who is turning Prince Harry into a "pauper."

Pastor Shane Vaughn made the remarks in a video streamed to his YouTube channel on Monday. One day earlier, Oprah Winfrey's interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aired on CBS. Markle, who is biracial, alleged racism from unspecified members of the Royal Family and revealed that she had contemplated suicide after marrying Harry. Vaughn insisted that Markle was leading her husband astray, while claiming that he prays for him to leave Markle "every night."

"Prince Harry, my heart breaks for you, son," Vaughn said in a clip surfaced by Right Wing Watch, a project of the progressive group People for the American Way. "I pray every night that God would get ahold of your heart and give you the backbone of a man. And that you would act like a prince instead of a pauper."

"That you would take control of your house and quit letting Jezebel lead you, sir, away from your family, away from your inheritance," he added. "Just so she can cry, talking about suicide. Ain't nobody trying to commit no suicide, she's a narcissist. She loves herself too much to kill herself."

During Sunday's Oprah interview, U.S.-born Markle said that instances of racism from members of the Royal Family included "concerns and conversations" about the skin tone of her and Harry's child Archie before he was born.

The Royal Family issued an official statement saying they were "saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan," while recognizing the seriousness of the racism allegations. Others have attacked Markle while openly questioning the legitimacy of her claims.

Her estranged half-sister Samantha Markle recently echoed some of Vaughn's remarks by claiming that Meghan has "narcissistic personality disorder" during an interview on Australian radio show Fifi, Fev & Nick. Thomas Markle, father to both Meghan and Samantha, insisted that claims of racism in the Royal Family are "bullshit" during an appearance on U.K. breakfast show Good Morning Britain.

Broadcaster Piers Morgan on Tuesday stepped down from his role as host of Good Morning Britain due to backlash over his characterization of Markle's remarks, which he has called "race-baiting propaganda" meant to "destroy the Monarchy."

Conservative pundit Charlie Kirk called Markle a "tradition-destroying leftist" who was "making it up like Jussie Smollett," while also dubbing Harry a "metrosexual beta male" during a recent episode of his podcast The Charlie Kirk Show.

Vaughn has generated a number of attention-grabbing comments in the past, although he has not frequently weighed in on the Royal Family. He was the star of a November 2020 viral video claiming that former President Donald Trump would be sworn in for a second term despite losing the presidential election.

More recently, the preacher claimed that President Joe Biden's proposed $1,400 stimulus checks were really a "blessing" from Trump instead. Attention Vaughn received from last year's viral video resulted in the revelation that he had spent three years in prison after facing multiple fraud charges in 2009.
