The Peaky Blinders Season 6 finale was explosive, to say the least, but as the drama unfolded and reached a jaw-dropping end, there were plenty of questions left unanswered.

Thankfully, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has announced his plans for a Peaky Blinders film, where the story of Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) and the Peaky Blinders will officially be brought to an end with the outbreak of World War II.

Hopefully, the film will also address a whole load of questions from the Peaky Blinders finale, such as Arthur's fate and what Tommy whispered to his son Duke.

Newsweek has a breakdown of the 6 Big Questions needing to be answered, below:

6 Questions That Need to be Answered in The Peaky Blinders Movie

1. What Did Tommy Whisper to Duke?

After blowing Arrow House to smithereens to make way for social housing, Tommy Shelby held a dinner on the grounds nearby with his family to say final goodbyes, without informing them of his impending death.

As he made his way around the table, he told his first-born Charlie to look after Lizzie (Natasha O'Keefe), hugged his Uncle Charlie tight, and instructed his sister Ada (Sophie Rundle) to run for MP.

The most important goodbye was to his illegitimate son Duke (Conrad Khan), a lonely traveler turned Peaky Blinder, complete with the signature haircut.

Tommy whispered something in Duke's ear before he turned his back on his family for what he thought was forever (Tommy's diagnosis of terminal tuberculoma was found to be fake) but exactly what he said was never revealed.

One thing is for sure, Tommy has made clear his intentions for Duke to be his successor, naming Duke the "Dark" and his other son Charlie the "Light," and Duke's loyalty to Tommy and the Peaky haircut seems to suggest things are heading in that direction.

Hopefully, exactly what Tommy said to Duke will be of great relevance in the Peaky Blinders movie.

In the meantime, Peaky fans have been sharing their theories online (via Reddit) regarding Tommy and Duke's exchange. One user, poorguy55 said: "the way he gave him the lead in killing Billy and testing Finn definitely alluded to the fact that Tommy saw Duke as his heir to lead the family/carry on the legacy. So it was probably orders/words of advice to lead the family."

A second fan, PatrykZD commented: "The first couple of words were 'I want you...' and then it was inaudible. Maybe he said I want you to take over the business, but he could have said anything."

2. Will There Be A Finn Vs Duke Rivalry?

Finn Shelby (Harry Kirkton) was stripped of his Shelby name in the final episode, thanks to his friendship with Billy Grade (Emmett J. Scanlan). Finn had spilled to Billy that the Peaky Blinders were planning to assassinate Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) at a fascist rally, and audiences will remember for Season 5, that plan was sabotaged.

In Season 6, it was revealed that Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillen) and Danny Whizz-Bang (Samuel Edward-Cook) were killed in the ambush at the rally, along with Shelby's beloved Aunt Polly (Helen McCrory). Their killers were members of the IRA, who had received the information directly from Billy.

Testing Finn's loyalty to the Shelby clan, he was tasked with shooting Billy dead, without any explanation, by his half-brother, Duke (Conrad Khan).

However, instead of shooting Billy dead, Finn pulled the trigger on Duke. However, thanks to advice from Uncle Charlie (Ned Dennehy) to empty the first two chambers, Duke survived and shot Billy dead himself.

"By order of the Peaky Blinders," Finn was told he was no longer a Shelby by Duke, leading Finn to swear to take revenge, setting up a potential rivalry in the Peaky Blinders movie.

3. Is Arthur Shelby Dead?

When Arthur (Paul Anderson) learned of Tommy's (false) tuberculoma diagnosis, he was absolutely devastated, promising Tommy he would join him when he passes.

At Tommy's farewell lunch, Arthur was noticeably absent, with his estranged wife Linda (Kate Phillips) stating he had gone down to the river to go fishing.

She then read out a letter on his behalf, which said: "Where you're going Tommy, there will I be. Very soon. Love Arthur."

Was Arthur really just fishing to avoid saying goodbye or was it something more sinister than that? After all, he was under the impression Tommy was going to die and he did promise to "join him."

Hopefully, Arthur Shelby will be alive when the Peaky Blinders film eventually drops.

4. Will Tommy Take Down Mosley?

With Tommy's nemesis Oswald Mosley still alive, the Peaky Blinders movie could see the final showdown between them.

Not only is there the possibility Tommy will want to help stop the spread of fascism, but he will also be fuelled with anger after Mosley was involved in his fake tuberculoma diagnosis, tricking Tommy into believing he was simply a dead man walking.

On the other hand, history fans will know Mosley lived until December 1980 and his wife, Diana Mitford (Amber Anderson), lived until August 2003 so there is also the likelihood Mosley will not die if creator Steven Knight sticks to the history books.

5. Will Tommy Meet Hitler?

With World War II on the horizon and Steven Knight's previous admission he plans to end the Peaky Blinders world with the first air raid siren of the conflict, there is a possibility Hitler and Tommy could cross paths.

He narrowly avoided meeting the future Führer by passing up on an invitation to Mosley and Diana's wedding, but with Hitler rising to the power in the 1930s, Tommy and his timelines are sure to crossover, whether in person or not.

6. Will Tommy Die?

"I'm guessing you people decided that the only person who could ever kill Tommy Shelby is Tommy Shelby himself," Tommy boasted to Dr. Holford (Aneurin Barnard), who happened to be on the Nazi payroll and gave him a fake tuberculoma diagnosis. He also told Tommy he had about 18 months to live, leading Tommy to almost take his own life.

However, Mosley's plan backfired entirely as in preparation for his death, Tommy only solidified the Peaky Blinder's power, wiping out their enemies and setting themselves up as one of the most powerful gangs on both sides of the Atlantic.

However, all good things must come to an end and with Peaky Blinders ending with a movie, perhaps Tommy has no more lives left to dodge death.

Hopefully, fans will not have too long to wait for the Peaky Blinders movie to find out what happens next.

Peaky Blinders is streaming on the BBC iPlayer now and will drop on Netflix on Friday, June 10.
