Pedro Pascal has concerned his fans after turning up to the Golden Globes in a sling with very little explanation as to why.

The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, hosted by comedian Jo Koy. The awards ceremony, which celebrates success in film and television, marked the beginning of the eagerly anticipated awards season.

Pascal, known for The Last of Us, wore a black sling to the occasion alongside a black turtle neck with white yarn knot designs and black trousers. He completed the look with nail decal that said the word "ouchy," with pictures being shared to the Instagram stories of the nail artist nailpaint.christina. The artist had also designed Pascal's nails for the 2023 Met Gala.

The actor remained tight-lipped about what caused the injury, simply telling reporters he "fell."

In a video uploaded to X, formerly Twitter, by the Associated Press, the 48-year-old was asked what happened to him.

"I fell. Be careful, exactly, it can happen to anybody," he told reporters.

Newsweek reached out to Pascal's publicist for comment via email Monday.

Fans have taken to X to share their concerns over Pascal's injury.

"Why is Pedro Pascal's arm in a sling? Who hurt him?" one person asked.

"What happened to Pedro Pascal ?!?? ..the sling?" another X user queried.

A third user wrote: "Poor thing, be careful Pedro."

"Pedro sounding like an abused wife that shows up to work with suspicious bruises," one person wrote.

Others shared how much they loved his outfit, sling included.

"I just love how Pedro Pascal is matching the outfits and the arm sling, he might be hurt but he'll still serve," one person posted to the social media platform.

"Not a single other person on the planet could make a regular a** arm sling look this slick. Pedro Pascal is looking devastatingly hot in Bottega Veneta," said another.

A third wrote: "Oh no, what hurt my M* baby, Pedro Pascal?! he's so damn cute though, that even the sling looks like an accessory to the outfit. Still fly, papi."

Pascal was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series—Drama for his role as Joel in The Last of Us, HBO's TV adaptation of the hit video game series with the same name. The show, which premiered at the beginning of 2023, follows Joel and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), who take a journey across a post-apocalyptic America on an important mission.

The show has been renewed for a second season, which will start production later this year and debut sometime in 2025.

Pascal ultimately lost out to Succession star Kieran Culkin.

Christopher Nolan's film, Oppenheimer, and Hulu's The Bear were big winners at the 2024 Golden Globes.
