A 5-year-old girl and her mother were fatally stabbed by a man while he made dinner, according to law enforcement officials.
In a press release obtained by Newsweek, the Pennsylvania State Police said that the incident occurred on Monday, August 22, when officers were called to a home located on Firebox Court in York County's Hopewell Township. Officers were called to the residence for reports of a stabbing incident, police said.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered four victims that had sustained stab wounds, the press release said. Police identified the victims as 34-year-old Christine Fousek, a 5-year-old girl, 63-year-old Jacqueline Fousek and 28-year-old Joseph Fousek. Police said that Christine Fousek and the 5-year-old girl were pronounced deceased at the scene. The other two victims were transported to a local hospital shortly after officers arrived and were treated "for serious injuries sustained."
On Tuesday, the York County Coroner's Office identified the 5-year-old girl as Rylee Reynolds and said that she was the daughter of Christine Fousek. The coroner's office also said that an autopsy is being conducted on both the mother and daughter.

In the press release sent to Newsweek, the Pennsylvania State Police said that following the incident, a suspect, identified as 31-year-old Keith Kretzer, was taken into custody "without incident."
"The York County District Attorney's Office was notified and consulted," the State Police said in the press release. "Kretzer is being charged with two counts of Criminal Homicide and two counts of Criminal Attempt – Homicide."
"There is no concern or threat to the public," the press release added.
Penn Live obtained court documents following the incident, which included statements Kretzer made to police after he was arrested. According to Penn Live, Kretzer told police that he was making dinner with his girlfriend, Christine Fousek, when "something took control of him and made him grab a knife."
The court documents obtained by Penn Live also said that after he fatally stabbed Christine Fousek and Reynolds, he went upstairs in the residence and stabbed the two other victims. According to Penn Live, the court documents alleged that when Kretzer attempted to stab Joseph Fousek, a fight ensued between the two. Joseph Fousek was able to remove the knife from Kretzer's possession.
Following the altercation with Joseph Fousek, Kretzer told police that he "snapped out of it" and fled from the home where the stabbing occurred, Penn Live reported.
Penn Live reported that Kretzer is currently being held in the York County Prison.
