Peyton Manning Named Worst Impressionist by MNF Guest Arnold Schwarzenegger

"The Sheriff" is welcoming "The Terminator" to town for Week 9's edition of the ManningCast.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will join Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning on their ESPN2 broadcast of Monday night's game between the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets. The former professional bodybuilder, action movie star and governor of California was announced as a guest for the show on Sunday in a video that left him less than impressed with Peyton's impersonations.

A skit released by Peyton Manning's production company showed the Hall of Famer on the phone, pitching Schwarzenegger on how he should enter the broadcast.

In this case, the five-time MVP said his guest should appear through a sort of electrical storm, crouched and naked, in Eli's basement—a nod to the 1984 sci-fi classic that saw Schwarzenegger rise to stardom as a killer cyborg. Peyton then suggested breaking Eli's hand and tossing him across the basement.

Schwarzenegger tossed aside these "requests." The elder Manning brother followed up by seeing if the Hollywood star would say his iconic "I'll be back" line when the show goes to commercial on Monday, mimicking Schwarzenegger's voice in the process.

"Was that supposed to sound like me?" Schwarzenegger asked. "No, no, no, that's not the way I say it. Come on now, if you want to imitate me, then do it the right way. 'My name is Peyton Manning, and I am the worst impressionist.'"

Other 'Manningcast' Guests for Week 9

One of the draws of the ManningCast each week is the wide variety of guests who join Peyton and Eli to talk football. Previous guests this season range from Will Ferrell to Aaron Rodgers to Jimmy Kimmel.

Schwarzenegger headlines the show's Week 9 guests, though a couple of other familiar faces will also join the Manning brothers during the broadcast. Omaha Productions announced Friday morning that, along with Schwarzenegger, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson will appear during the Chargers-Jets game.

ManningCast held "auditions" for an additional broadcaster earlier this year, in which Lawrence amusingly participated.

"You didn't get the job, but do you want to be a guest on our show?" Eli said to Lawrence.

'ManningCast' Schedule Rest of Season

ManningCast is back on Monday night for the first time since Week 7. This will be the fifth time Peyton and Eli are on the call during the 2023 season, leaving five more to go.

The brothers will be back on screens in each of the next two weeks, then two more times over the rest of the regular season. The final episode of the campaign will come during Wild Card Weekend. Here's the schedule for Peyton and Eli over the second half of the season.

Week 10: Broncos at Bills (ESPN2)

Week 11: Eagles at Chiefs (ESPN2, ESPN+)

Week 13: Bengals at Jaguars (ESPN2)

Week 15: Chiefs at Patriots (ESPN2)

Wild Card Weekend: TBD (ESPN2, ESPN+)

How to Watch Chargers-Jets 'ManningCast'

The Jets host the Chargers at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday night at MetLife Stadium. Fans wishing to follow along with the traditional broadcast can tune into ESPN and listen to Joe Buck (play-by-play) and Troy Aikman (analyst) call the game. But anyone hoping for a quirkier viewing experience can flip over to ESPN2 for the ManningCast.

The alternative broadcast, which features analysis from the Manning brothers (and some shenanigans), is also available on NFL+.
