Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has shared a photo of what she described as a "perfect" phone call with former President Donald Trump during efforts to elect the new speaker of the House of Representatives.
Greene shared the image to Twitter early on Saturday amid reports that the former president had spoken to Republican holdouts who were opposed to newly elected Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
"It was the perfect phone call," Greene tweeted along with a photo from Bloomberg News that pictured her holding up a cellphone showing a call from a contact named "DT" - Donald Trump.

The moment was also captured for Getty Images by photographer Chip Somodevilla, and shows Greene holding the phone up to fellow Republican Representative Matt Rosendale, who had voted against McCarthy in earlier rounds, but voted "present" on the 15th ballot, helping to secure McCarthy's election.
Greene also shared a photo of herself with McCarthy following the speaker's election and wrote: "Congratulations, Mr. Speaker!"
The congresswoman, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, has been a consistent supporter of McCarthy's throughout his efforts to win the speakership and had previously expressed frustration with some of her Freedom Caucus colleagues who continued to oppose him.
On Wednesday, Greene complained that three unnamed McCarthy opponents had sought committee positions for themselves, while she had made no requests on her own behalf.
"You would think I would be the one in there asking for something, but I haven't done that. But I find out that it's my Freedom Caucus and my supposed friends that went and did that, and they asked nothing for me. Nothing. That's what I found out in there," Greene said.
Trump, who had publicly backed McCarthy, reportedly made phone calls to some of the House Republicans who were continuing to oppose him on Friday.
That included Representative Matt Gaetz, according to two people briefed on the call who spoke to The New York Times on condition of anonymity. Gaetz had been one of the strongest critics of McCarthy and had nominated Trump to serve as speaker, though only Gaetz cast his ballot for the former president.
Greene rejected the idea of electing Trump speaker in a tweet on Thursday.
"I don't want to see President Trump be just third in line to President, I want to see him actually be President," Greene tweeted. "That's why I was proud to endorse him the same day he announced he is running for President in 2024."
McCarthy thanked Trump for his help in remarks to reporters following his election early on Saturday, saying: "I don't think you should doubt–anybody should doubt his influence."
Newsweek has asked former President Trump's office for comment.
