Piers Morgan has called for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to boycott Whoopi Goldberg over her suggestion the Holocaust was not about race.

Goldberg apologized after telling ABC's The View that the Nazi genocide involved "two groups of white people."

Morgan appeared to link the debacle to Harry and Meghan's past comments on misinformation—a day after they voiced concerns about Joe Rogan's Spotify podcast.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter shared a video of Goldberg's remarks and wrote on Twitter: "WTF? This is insane. The extermination of 6 million Jews wasn't about race??? Will any rock stars or renegade royals now boycott Whoopi Goldberg and/or ABC for this dangerous misinformation?"

Morgan has used the term "renegade royals" to refer to Harry and Meghan multiple times since their royal exit was announced.

The couple has been outspoken about misinformation, including as recently as a day earlier, on January 30, when their spokesperson waded into the debate about Rogan.

Morgan has expressed support for the UFC commentator in the face of a backlash, led by musicians Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, against discussions of the COVID-19 vaccine on his podcast.

It is slightly unclear how a Meghan and Harry boycott of Goldberg would work since they do not have any current partnerships with the actress.

The View's panel were discussing the decision of a Tennessee school board to ban Maus, a graphic novel depicting Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust, due to concerns about profanity and nudity.

Goldberg said: "I mean, it's about the Holocaust, the killing of 6 million people, but that didn't bother you? If you're going to do this, then let's be truthful about it. Because the Holocaust isn't about race. No, it's not about race. It's about man's inhumanity to other man."

Co-host Ana Navarro said: "But it's about white supremacy. It's about going after Jews and Gypsies and Roma."

Goldberg said: "But these are two white groups of people."

Goldberg later posted a statement on her Twitter account apologizing for her comments.

The statement read: "On today's show, I said the Holocaust 'is not about race but man's inhumanity to man.'

"I should have said it is about both. As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, 'The Holocaust was about the Nazi's systematic annihilation of the Jewish people—who they deemed to be an inferior race.' I stand corrected.

"The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver. I'm sorry for the hurt I have caused."
