If you've captured a Cosmog in Pokémon Go, you might be curious whether or not it can evolve. It can, and you can start the process yourself. In the blink of an eye, you can evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem, but you'll need a bit of patience to do so.

For those unfamiliar with this Pokémon, Cosmog is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon that made its first appearance in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This Alolan Pokémon debuted in Pokémon Go during the season of Light as part of the Cosmic Companion Special Research storyline.

Cosmog is an interesting monster that has two evolutionary hops to its ultimate form: Solgaleo or Lunala. That's right, Cosmog can evolve into Cosmoem and then a Legendary from Pokémon Sun and Moon. You need to get to Cosmoem first though, and it's not exactly a walk in the park.

Luckily, if you're looking to do just that, we've got your back. Here's everything you need to know about how to evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem in Pokémon Go.

How to Evolve Cosmog in Pokémon Go

If you want to evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem, first you'll need to amass 25 Candy. You'll also need to complete Step 1 through Step 4 of the Cosmic Companion Special Research Story. You should be on Step 5 from here, which tasks you with this assignment: Evolve a Cosmog.

Once you've completed Step 5 of the Cosmic Companion Special Research line, you'll have received 25 Candy for getting Cosmog. That means you should be ready to go ahead and evolve your new Pokémon friend. It really is as easy as collecting enough Candy and playing through the game as you normally would.

When you get all 25 Candy, you should be able to find the option to evolve Cosmog when you check the Pokémon's status. If not, close your app, restart it, and check again. If you still don't see any way to evolve Cosmog, you may want to also restart your mobile device entirely, then check back.

Once you've evolved Cosmog into Cosmoem successfully, you can still evolve Cosmoem further into Solgaleo or Lunala. You'll need 100 Candy for this. However, the option to evolve will not be available to you just yet. Hang around in Pokémon Go long enough, and you'll be able to get one of the Legendary Pokémon of your choice. Currently, Solgaleo and Lunala are set to appear in Pokémon Go on November 23.

Pokémon Go is available to play on iOS and Android for free right now.
