Pokémon Go 2022: How to Evolve Porygon

Porygon has been a member of the Pokémon series for years, and it made it debuted in Pokémon Go as one of the original Pokémon available to catch around the world. However, the game offers two of the iconic Pokémon's evolutions for players to unlock and acquire. Here's what you need to know to evolve your Porygon to Porygon2 and Porygon-Z in Pokémon Go.

Unlike many of the Pokémon found in Pokémon Go, Porygon requires players to obtain and collect two different items if they want to evolve it fully. Here's what you need to know.

How to Evolve Porygon in Pokémon Go

As noted above, Porygon has two distinct evolutions that players can acquire in Pokémon Go, but to get both of them, you're going to need to collect some items. The first item you need to acquire is Porygon Candy.

Porygon Candy is used to evolve your Porygon to Porygon 2, and you'll need to collect 25 of these handy items if you want to complete the evolution. One of the best ways to get your hands on more Porygon Candy is to walk around with your Porygon selected as your buddy. Every three kilometers that you walk (roughly 1.8 miles) will grant you a piece of Porygon Candy. So, if you're walking around a good bit, you can earn a good chunk of candy outright.

Another handy way to get your hands on Porygon Candy is to visit Pokéstops, Gyms, and receive gifts. Once you have the complete 25, you'll be able to evolve your Porygon to Porygon2, beginning the next phase of the evolutionary process.

This is where things start to get tough. While 25 Porygon Candy might have sounded like a lot, especially since they're rare and the best way to get them is to walk with your Porygon, you're going to find the next part of the process more grueling. But, since this is Porygon's final evolution, it's worth the trouble. To evolve Porygon2 to Porygon-Z, you will need to collect 100 Porygon Candy.

Again, the best way to collect this reliably is to walk around with Porygon or Porygon2 as your buddy. Roughly every two miles will grant you a Porygon Candy, so you'll need to walk around 200 miles to gather 100 Porygon Candy alone. This will take some time, but you can also use that to your advantage when you're out and about and going around the town.
