Players can snap up a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet pre-order bonus when purchasing either game early.

New Pokémon Scarlet and Violet details emerged from the latest Pokémon Presents Presentation on Wednesday. The livestream showcased how Gyms will work in the upcoming games, new Pokémon, and co-op and multiplayer options for players.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be the very first open-world entries the franchise has seen. They'll be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch when they launch later this year. In addition to new monsters and ways to play, they will include a three-part campaign that includes the Gym challenge, with additional secrets left to unlock.

Some of the most interesting revelations, however, come from buying the games ahead of their official release in November. Players can look forward to multiple Pokémon pre-order bonuses when locking in their purchases early.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pre-Order Bonus: How to Get Special Pikachu

Early Pokémon Scarlet and Violet buyers will receive a special pre-order bonus: Special Pikachu. This Pikachu knows the move Fly, which it is normally unable to learn due to its Electric-type status. It also features a Tera Type of Flying, which gives it a flashy "crown" of balloons when transformed.

If you're interested in learning how to get Special Pikachu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, simply follow these steps:

  1. Purchase Pokémon Scarlet and Violet from any retailer. Both physical and digital copies qualify.
  2. Boot up the game and go to the main menu.
  3. Choose the "Mystery Gift" option.
  4. Select "Get via Internet."

Your Special Pikachu download will commence. Be sure to activate this download before Tuesday, February 28, 2023. This is currently the only way you'll be able to download Special Pikachu, unless you receive it in a trade from someone else in the future.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pre-Order Bonus: How to Get the Adventure Set

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet buyers can look forward to more than just the Special Pikachu pre-order bonus. Those who opt for the digital version of either game from the Nintendo Switch eShop will receive a special code for a gift pack of items called the Adventure Set.

The Adventure Set contains helpful items like Potions and Revives to help new Trainers on their journey. All of these items may be purchased or found throughout the game world, but having them early is a definite boon.

The Adventure Set contains the following items:

  • Potion ×10
  • Full Heal ×5
  • Revive ×3
  • Ether ×3
  • Rare Candy ×1
  • Nugget ×1

When it comes to learning how to get the Adventure Set pre-order bonus in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the process is quite simple, though you must be connected to the internet to do so.

  1. Connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet.
  2. Log in with the user profile linked to the Nintendo Switch Account that purchased a copy of Pokémon Scarlet or Violet.
  3. Start up Pokémon Scarlet or Violet and access the Mystery Gift feature.
  4. Choose "Get a Mystery Gift."
  5. Select "Get with Code/Password" and input your code.

In addition to the Adventure Set, players will also receive a code that grants 100 Poké Balls. To receive either the Adventure Set or the Poké Balls, however, you must play either game for one to two hours to unlock the Mystery Gift functionality. Keep that in mind as the codes cannot be inputted outside of this menu option otherwise.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 18.
