One of the nice things about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are that players will be able to catch version-exclusive Pokemon. These Pokemon can include Legendary Pokemon, like Koraidon and Miraidon, as well as non-Legendary Pokemon like Bagon. Bagon is a Dragon-type rock head Pokemon that can only be caught in Pokemon Violet. And, you can actually add this Pokemon to your PokeDex very early in the game.

How to Catch Bagon in Early Game

The early part of Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet is all about getting yourself situated at school. While you're making your way up the path to the central city, though, you can also come across a number of Pokemon out in the wild. One of these Pokemon is Bagon.

Bagon can be found and captured by heading over to the northeastern section of the bottom of the map, near south Province Area Five. Once here, climb up the nearby mountain area and look around for Bagon's rock-like head. If you're playing in Pokemon Scarlet, you'll be able to find other Pokemon within this area.

As always, if you don't find the Pokemon that you're looking for in the area, you can always leave and then come back. Anytime you pull far enough away for the game to un-render Pokemon, it will then render in new ones, allowing you to find the Pokemon that you're looking for, even if it wasn't there the first time. And, because Pokemon Scarlet and Violet already have such high spawn rates, you're going to find a lot of wild Pokemon exploring the world anyway.

Bagon is one of many new Pokemon making an appearance in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This little guy will evolve into two other forms, a shell-like turtle known as Shelgon at Level 30 and then the semi-Legendary Salamence at Level 50. Catching this Pokemon early on ensures that you'll have a Dragon-type Pokemon when you come across any Pokemon weak against that type.

Of course, you'll also want to make sure you are prepared for your newest Pokemon adventure by taking a look at all the Legendary Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. And, because the games just came out, our list may update in the coming days.

While this isn't the only place that you'll find Bagon wandering around, it is one of the easiest to reach. You can technically approach it in the very early moments of the game, just after leaving your home to travel to the academy.
