A woman claimed in a viral video that she was placed in the same hospital room as her ex-boyfriend's wife, and commenters were horrified.

The video, found here, was posted to TikTok last week by Maddy Cifelli (@madi_lane_). So far, it has received more than 3 million views.

"When your ex and his wife are in THE SAME labor and delivery room," the video's text overlay reads.

In the video, Cifelli is lying in her hospital bed and lip-synching along to a popular TikTok sound, the lyrics of which are: "Oh, what a time to be alive."

In the post's caption, Cifelli wrote: "The hospital was too full for L&D—at least we had a curtain."

Many commenters were shocked, and one asked Cifelli for more information.

"Ok. This one may need a story time...which ex?" Posey2010 said.

Cifelli explained in a video response to Posey2010's question that the hospital was "crazy" on the day of the surprise run-in.

"The ER was packed, labor and delivery was packed ... I literally told Cody [her partner] that the last time I was here I had to share a room with someone and it was a horrible experience because she just kept yelling the whole time."

As Cifelli and her partner settled in, Cifelli's ex-boyfriend walked in with his wife. Cifelli said that she and her ex made eye contact, but she didn't say whether or not they said hello.

"Luckily there was a curtain in-between us, but it was just so awkward," she said. "I just felt like I couldn't talk."

She added that the ex in question was someone she dated in high school.

The Boston Globe reported that hospitals are currently "busier than ever."

"A combination of factors is fueling the crisis. Many patients had to skip routine medical appointments during the pandemic, and their chronic illnesses, such as heart conditions and diabetes, have worsened," the paper reported. "Some were scheduled to have surgery in 2020 but were forced to wait in pain because hospitals canceled their procedures to free up beds for the surge of COVID patients."

Additionally, some avoided seeking medical care altogether because they feared contracting the coronavirus while visiting the hospital. As a result, those suffering from chronic illnesses have become "sicker."

"Virtually every stage of patient care delivery is stressed or near collapse," Dr. Richard Nesto, chief medical officer at Beth Israel Lahey Health, told the Boston Globe.

With that in mind, it's perhaps not too surprising that Cifelli was forced to share a hospital room. Still, commenters were horrified at the idea of sharing a delivery room with their ex.

"Oh nooo. I don't care how far into labor I'm in...I'm walking out. We will deliver n the parking lot. Let's go," Kayy Nicole wrote.

"That would be my 13th reason," Tiffany said.

"Girl, I would've just passed away," Katie commented.

Le$haybean added: "I'd be like...yeah I'm not pregnant anymore so peace out."
