The bond between Prince William and Prince Louis has been highlighted in a new viral video, as footage captured of the royal father and son on the balcony of Buckingham Palace in 2019 has resurfaced on TikTok.
William's role as a parent to his three children—Prince George (born 2013), Princess Charlotte (2015) and Louis (2018)—was pulled into focus earlier this month when it was announced that his wife, the Princess of Wales, had been hospitalized for "planned abdominal surgery."
While Kate was in hospital, William canceled his public engagements to support her and maintain as much normality in the home life of his children as possible. The princess was discharged on January 29 and will recuperate at the family home in Windsor for an extended period, during which William will return gradually to official duties.

Since the accession of King Charles III in September 2022, the three Wales children have attended an increasing number of official engagements. Their growing fanbase is getting an opportunity to see them interacting with one another and their family members.
An annual event that all three have attended since their earliest years has been the Trooping the Colour celebrations in London, which take place each June to mark the monarch's official birthday.
The celebrations involve a processional carriage drive from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade ground, where a military parade is overseen by the monarch, followed by a procession back to the palace, where the royal family appear on the famous balcony to watch an aerial flypast.
Uploaded to TikTok by user, princess__jo, on January 27, footage from Louis' balcony debut in 2018 has become a viral hit, showing a touching moment exchanged with his father.
In the clip, Louis is shown reaching out for his father, who takes him in his arms as they watch the military jets fly overhead. William prompted his son to wave at the planes as they flew overhead, an instruction that was followed by the little prince.
The video has been viewed over 1.3 million times on the social media site and gained in excess of 19,000 likes and numerous comments, many of which have praised the royals.
"A wonderful husband and father!" wrote one user of William. "A magnificent human being! Diana would be so proud! 🥰"
"That little one is a real go-getter. Bless," posted another, with a further comment reading: "A wonderful family ❤️👑."
In the years since his balcony debut, Prince Louis has become a fan favorite during the royal family's Trooping the Colour flypast appearances for his cheeky expressions as the planes roar overhead.
