Princess Eugenie has posted a heartwarming picture of her new baby boy's hand—in a post with echoes of Meghan Markle's.

Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter gave birth to a 8lbs 1oz son just before 9 a.m. GMT (4 a.m. ET) yesterday with her husband Jack Brooksbank by her side.

While the Buckingham Palace announcement contained all the details royal watchers look out for, including the weight of the royal baby and the fact the queen had been told, the princess shared a very different post on Instagram.

The picture showed the newborn's delicate hand being held by both Eugenie and Brooksbank and was captioned simply with three blue hearts.

The image is strikingly similar to one shared by Meghan and Prince Harry on Mother's Day, May 12, 2019, just days after son Archie was born on May 6.

Their now defunct Sussex Royal Instagram account posted an image of just Archie's feet as he was wrapped in a blanket, which was taken at their Frogmore Cottage home, the Daily Mail reported at the time.

The post read: "Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.

"We honor and celebrate each and every one of you.

"Today is Mother's Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe.

"This is the first Mother's Day for The Duchess of Sussex."

The princess also gave birth at the same hospital as Harry and Meghan, privately run The Portland Hospital, owned by the Hospital Corporation of America.

A Buckingham Palace announcement read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital.

"Jack Brooksbank was present. The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news.

"This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York's first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank were briefly living at Meghan and Harry's U.K. home, Frogmore Cottage, a short distance from Windsor Castle, and had planned to spend the early days of their new child's life there.

However, shortly after moving in as part of a deal with Harry and Meghan, they moved out again.
