Priyanka Chopra Jonas has hit back at Rosie O'Donnell after the comedian referred to her as "the Chopra wife" and "someone Chopra" in a video apology.
O'Donnell on Sunday shared a TikTok video in which she recounted how she had been seated next to Chopra and her husband, Nick Jonas, while dining out at upscale Nobu Malibu with her son, his girlfriend and Fran Drescher.
The former talk show host revealed that she had mistakenly said that she knows the Quantico star's father, believing him to be author Deepak Chopra, instead of her patriarch Dr. Ashok Chopra, who passed away in 2013.
After her initial apology about the mix-up, O'Donnell returned to social media on Monday to apologize for the way in which she referred to the actress.
Responding to the TV personality's TikTok video, Priyanka Chopra wrote in a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday: "I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter.
"But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to Google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly.
"We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as 'someone' or 'wife' especially in a sincere apology," the Miss World 2000 winner continued. "If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in, will be amazing."
The Indian-born screen star concluded her post by explaining that "not all Chopra's are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smith's are related to the legendary Will Smith."
In her initial video, former The View co-host O'Donnell said: "I just embarrassed my son and his girlfriend Theresa and Fran Drescher because seated next to us in Malibu Nobu was Nick Jonas and his wife, someone Chopra.
"Which I always assumed was Deepak Chopra's daughter, so when I said, 'Hi Nick Jonas you were great in Kingdom and hi I know your dad', she goes, 'You do? Who's my dad?'
"I said Deepak, and she said, 'No and Chopra is a common name.' I felt so embarrassed. Didn't you think Nick Jonas was married to Deepak Chopra's daughter? Am I the only one who thought that?"

The TV personality said: "To Nick Jonas I apologize, and to the Chopra wife, I apologize too."
Following backlash over the way in which she had referred to Priyanka Chopra, O'Donnell said: "So I'm reading the comments about Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, who I mistakenly thought was Deepak's daughter.
"People thought that she was rude. She wasn't rude, it was just awkward. I'm sure she gets sick of that. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
"According to the comments, a lot of people thought that too, but she's apparently a very well-known actress and more famous than him, people were saying. So I'm sure it felt weird to her, to begin with."
Concluding her video, she added: "Anyway, Priyanka is her name. Priyanka—I hope I'm pronouncing that right. I just want to apologize to her and to everyone who thought that it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry, sometimes I f*** up. I did at Nobu."
In an apparent move to illustrate Priyanka Chopra's level of fame, O'Donnell also posted on Instagram a screenshot of the actress' profile on the image-sharing platform as she pointed out that the star has "75 million followers." O'Donnell's current Instagram follower count stands at 430,000.
