One child's adorable reaction to hearing of Queen Elizabeth II's death yesterday, September 8, has melted hearts online. After hearing the news, the young girl is seen crying uncontrollably at her home.

Footage on TikTok of the child, who was captured in the emotional state by her aunt, has gained more than 270,000 views in just one day.

The queen died on September 8 at Balmoral Castle, leaving the United Kingdom in a "period of Royal Mourning," according to Buckingham Palace. The Queen's death was announced at 1:30 p.m. ET, 17 months after the death of her husband Prince Philip.

In a statement yesterday, the Palace said: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

People across the country were left saddened by the news, taking their mourning online in many cases, including this aunt, who posted as @hanbao0909.

"My little niece is devastated about the passing of Her Majesty," she captioned the video. The girl told her aunt, "I'll miss our queen," before going in for a hug.

The aunt was left attempting to console her niece while she watched clips of the queen on television. While continuing to cry, the young girl said she'd learnt about the queen while at school.

Children up and down the U.K. took part in celebrations for the queen's Platinum Jubilee in June, getting days off school and attending street parties to honor her reign.

Viewers of the video were left touched by the niece's genuine emotions, claiming it even made them cry themselves.

"Oh she's just melted my heart and now i'm crying again," wrote one user.

"Aww she's a cutie. Shows what a big heart she has," added another, while a different user wrote, "Bless her. Give her a big squeeze. Such a lil sweet heart."

From young to old, emotions have seemingly been high. One grandma in England on hearing the news of the Queen's passing while out for a family meal burst into tears at the table.

Grandson Elliot Croft shared the moment to TikTok yesterday where it has since gained over 6.2 million views.

"Nan's quite literally in tears over the bucket-kicking of Liz," he captioned the video.

Croft's grandma was captured crying with her head in her hands, while another family member comforted her.
