Two Republicans are self-quarantining after one of them attended an event with Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is the latest member of President Donald Trump's inner circle to test positive for coronavirus.
The gubernatorial campaign of Representative Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) said Saturday that Gianforte and his running mate Kristen Juras are self-isolating and suspending in-person campaign events after Juras and Gianforte's wife attended the same event as Guilfoyle.
"On Tuesday, Susan Gianforte, Greg's wife, and Kristen Juras, his running mate, attended an event with Kimberly Guilfoyle who has tested positive for COVID-19. Since learning of their potential exposure, Greg, Susan, and Kristen have adhered to recommended guidelines. Out of an abundance of caution and for the health and safety of others, they will self-quarantine, be tested for COVID-19, and suspend in-person campaign events pending test results," a campaign spokesperson told Newsweek.
The spokesperson added, "With Congress in session this past week, Greg was in Washington and returned home Thursday. He did not attend the event."
Juras, who is running for lieutenant governor, posted a photo to Facebook on July 1 that showed her with Guilfoyle and Donald Trump Jr.
None of the people in the photo were wearing masks and it's unclear whether the entire event was mask-optional.
Susan and I had a great time last night with Donald Trump Jr here in Montana! It's wonderful to see so much support for President Trump in Big Sky Country!

Guilfoyle, the girlfriend of the president's eldest son, currently serves as the national chair of the Trump Victory Finance Committee 2020. The New York Times was the first to report her diagnosis on Friday. Trump Jr. also got tested but was negative for coronavirus.
Guilfoyle is the third person in close proximity to the president known to have contracted the virus. Trump's personal valet tested positive and the press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence tested positive for COVID-19 in May.
Sergio Gor, chief of staff for the Trump Victory Finance Committee, said in a statement to the Times that Guilfoyle was "immediately isolated to limit any exposure." Gor added that she will be retested since she's asymptomatic but that all upcoming events will be canceled as a precaution.
Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. were at several fundraising events over the past week, according to the Wall Street Journal. The two were scheduled to headline the "Mountain West Ranch Retreat" in Gallatin Gateway, Montana from June 30 to July 2. Then they were traveling to Rapid City, South Dakota for another retreat ahead of the president's July Fourth address at Mount Rushmore.
Newsweek reached out to the Trump campaign for comment on Guilfoyle and Trump Jr.'s attendance at the events but did not receive a response before publication.
Guilfoyle addressed her diagnosis with a tweet Saturday, in which she expressed thanks for "well wishes and prayers."
"I feel good thanks be to God and look forward to a speedy recovery so I can resume working to re-elect @realDonaldTrump," she said.
Update (7/4/2020, 4:05 p.m. ET): This story has been updated to include comment from Gianforte's campaign.
