Rescue dog owners often say that adopting their furry friend is one of the most rewarding things they have ever done—especially if they're able to show them new things and experiences like this owner, who recorded her French bulldog's sweet reaction to receiving a handmade sweater.

Without any knowledge of Kevin's life before being adopted, her owner, Ren, had no idea how the dog would respond to clothing.

Ren, in her 40s, told Newsweek: "This was the first time we had put anything on her, so I wanted to make a fuss so she knew it was a positive thing. Not all dogs love jumpers, and we didn't know if she'd worn them before, but she loved it."

On October 16, Kevin's nan gifted her a knitted pink and grey jumper. The four-year-old dog appears to be over the moon in the clip, as she jumps up and down while being paid compliments.

The on-screen text says: "Please enjoy Kevin losing her little mind over her new jumper knitted by her nan."

Ren, who lives in the Scottish Highlands, explained: "It's starting to get cold here in the Highlands, and the mornings are getting crisp. So we put this on her while we wait for the house to warm up."

She posted the adorable video to TikTok [@runksy], but one user was more bothered by the name and gender than the actual content.

One comment said, "I'm confused [though]. Is it a girl called Kevin? genuine question."

It turns out Kevin is a girl. Ren told Newsweek why she has a boy's name.

"We adopted Kevin earlier this year, and the charity had called her Rugbrod, but she wasn't responding to her new name.

"We have a cat called Marv, who's named after one of the Wet Bandits in Home Alone. So we first tried "Harry," which could be short for Harriet, but she wasn't really responding to it.

"So we thought, 'Kevin harasses the Wet Bandits,' and she responded instantly to Kevin."

Ren describes her dog as a "little bundle of joy" who is "fearless" and often wonders off into the forest. But at least now she can go on her adventures with something warm on her back.

It seems she has stolen the hearts of thousands of users, as the clip has over 11,000 views.

One user said, "Oh my days! How precious!! We love you, Kevin."

"As a female Frenchie, I'm losing my mind," said another.
