Seeing an animal experience something for the first time is definitely rewarding, especially if it was once a stray like Dylan.
The white dog had a rough start to life before being rescued by the U.K.'s Animal Rescue Charity in Bishops Stortford. He has since found a loving family who are teaching him how to be a pet after a life on the streets in Romania.
The former stray even has his own TikTok account, @dogcalleddylan, and a video of him trying steak for the first time has delighted over 188,000 viewers.
The footage shows Dylan lying on his bed, and he appears to be shaking as his new owner crouches down with a piece of meat. The on-screen text says: "Dylan, this is called steak. This is where life gets really really good."

Ten-year-old Dylan's journey has been documented, and he seems to be slowly coming out of his shell. One video caption says he has visible scars from the "unthinkable cruelty" that he endured as a puppy.
Now, he is living the dream with a loving family to call his own, and he has even been treated to cheese. A Newsweek article examined which human foods can and cannot be given to canines.

Sadly, stories like this are all too familiar for canines all over the globe. Each year, 6.3 million pets are surrendered to U.S. shelters, for an average of 17,260 a day, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The number of dogs and cats taken in by pet shelters hit 46,807 during January 2023, an increase of 1,744, compared with January 2022, the 24Petwatch's Shelter Watch Report found. Around 920,000 surrendered animals are euthanized every year. Shelters are striving to minimize euthanasia rates by promoting adoption campaigns, spaying and neutering programs and behavior rehabilitation.
So far, over 6,600 TikTok users have commented on the viral video, and some have even been reduced to tears.
"I think I'm in love! Dylan you are not going to believe how much love you get!" said one user.
Another wrote: "Dog's dream came through...thank you for sharing...absolutely priceless."
"Why [am I] crying?" said another user.
Another owner said: "That's all my rescue eats they deserve it."
Recently, a rescue dog's first time seeing the snow was captured on video, as well as the moment another dog chose her first-ever toy. Newsweek has also shared the moment a blind rescue dog experienced sand, touching his paws during his first trip to the beach.
Newsweek reached out to @dogcalleddylan for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
