'RHOBH' Fans Demand Andy Cohen Apology After Garcelle Reunion Joke

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans have called out host Andy Cohen for a conversation that took place during the second part of the show's season 12 reunion.

In the episode, that aired on Bravo on Wednesday, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Sutton Stracke, Garcelle Beauvais, Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley and Kathy Hilton sat down with franchise boss Cohen to continue to break down the season.

In one scene, the stars were seen discussing Beauvais' book Love Me As I Am, released earlier this year. Cohen turned to Jayne and asked: "Did you at least skim Garcelle's book for mentions of you before you chucked it in the trash?"

A screenshot then popped up of an Instagram story Jayne had posted showing a full trash can with Garcelle's book on top. She had written across the post: "@Garcelle, even though you unfollowed me I'm sure you'll see this," alongside a kiss emoji.

Rinna was then seen looking uncomfortable before saying: "Well, I have to be honest, I am the one who threw Garcelle's book in the trash."

She continued: "Garcelle and I had a handshake agreement, the kids were off limits, so about a year and a half later she put my daughter, Amelia [Hamlin], in her book in not a positive light, in a negative light, and that was what I did."

Beauvais then confirmed that the passage that had upset Rinna was a "retelling of the story of what happened in Rome." A flashback was then shown of Beauvais asking Rinna during a cast trip to Italy in 2019: "Do you think that your body image affected your daughter in any way?"

"Amelia shouldn't have to be in Garcelle's book in a negative light," Rinna said, and Beauvais then revealed the section that mentioned her co-star's 21-year-old daughter had been removed from the book.

Rinna then confirmed that she took a video of her putting the book in the trash and sent it to a group chat with Jayne, who then chose to post it on Instagram.

Cohen made a joke about the book being thrown out, asking: "Do you recycle?" before saying to Jayne: "You took a lot of s**t for [Rinna's] lack of recycling."

Rinna and Jayne laughed along with Cohen as the camera showed Beauvais looking distinctly unamused.

Following the scenes, fans took to social media to demand that Cohen apologizes to Beauvais.

One fan posted on Twitter: "Andy owes Garcelle an apology. That whole scene with him, Erika and Rinna joking about recycling was disgusting. Absolutely insulting towards Garcelle, her hard work and her truth she wrote in her book. #RHOBH."

Another fan tweeted: "Waiting for@Andy to issue a genuine apology to@GarcelleB for that scene on the reunion... #RHOBH #andycohen #toofar #RHOBHMeanGirls," including a gif of the "well...we're waiting!" moment from Caddyshack.

"Andy talks to Rinna like he's her close friend and not her moderator, which is why he shouldn't host these things anymore. He's officially too biased. Bravo owes Garcelle another apology for the way Andy glossed over Rinna's book reveal #RHOBH #RHOBHMeanGirls #RHOBHReunion," added a third Twitter user.

As another RHOBH fan tweeted: "I couldn't watch the reunion last night bc of the clips I saw online with the women once again treating Garcelle horribly. @Andy included. It's triggering for me. I won't be watching the last episode either. #Rinna #erikajayne #RHOBH."

Newsweek reached out to representatives for Cohen and Beauvais for comment.

The backlash against Cohen comes just a week after fans were left unimpressed with the host during the first part of the RHOBH reunion, as well.

During the episode, Kemsley was seen discussing her October 2021 burglary, during which three male intruders broke into her home while she and her two children, Jagger and Phoenix, slept.

While she was talking, Cohen could be seen trying to suppress a yawn and upon seeing what Cohen was doing, Kemsley asked him: "Am I boring you?"

Cohen immediately began to apologize and Kemsley asked: "Are you kidding me? Again? Two years in a row, Andy?" as the screen cut to a flashback from the season 11 reunion where Cohen was also caught yawning while Kemsley was talking.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion will conclude on October 26 on Bravo at 9 p.m. ET.
