Rihanna filed a lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty for attempting to make a profit off her trademarked name "Fenty."

The Fenty Beauty creator claimed her father, and another man named Moses Perkins, created an entertainment company in 2017 to solicit business for the 30-year-old singer, according to court documents obtained by The Daily Beast. Under the name Fenty Entertainment, Rihanna's father allegedly booked a $15 million tour in Latin America, two concerts at Staples Center in Los Angeles and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000.

The court documents also state Rihanna's father claimed to have run the business offers through the singer's label, Roc Nation; however, the label was never made aware of Ronald's business ventures.

Ronald allegedly made another attempt to profit off the name famous name in 2018 by trying to trademark "Fenty" for a line of boutique hotels—the application was quickly shot down by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Rihanna claimed to have sent numerous cease and desist letters to her father and Perkins, but they did not stop. She then felt forced to file a lawsuit and aims for an injunction against her father, as well as unspecified damages.

The "Anti" singer has previously opened up about her tempestuous relationship with her father. In an intimate interview in 2012 with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna opened up about her father's alleged abusive nature and what she had witnessed during her childhood.

"I was so angry at [my father]," she told Oprah as tears filled her eyes. "I was angry about a lot of things from my childhood, and I couldn't separate him as a husband from him as a father—I felt like he was a bad husband, he was a bad father."

Despite their turbulent past, Rihanna has remained in contact with her father; the two were last seen together in November while celebrating her grandfather's 90th birthday at a Bridgetown nightclub in Barbados.
