Amid the news that Johnny Depp won the defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, musician Ryan Adams shared his support for the actor as he commented on his statement posted on social media. After his post, though, Depp's fans are dragging Adams due to the abuse allegations against him.

On June 1, the defamation case between Depp and Heard came to a close as the jury's verdict favored Depp, awarding him $12 million dollars while Heard received $2 million in compensatory damages as Depp's former attorney Adam Waldman called Heard's abuse claims "a hoax."

After Depp posted his statement on Instagram, Ryan Adams commented, praising Depp's victory. He commented using three emojis including a red heart emoji, hands raised emoji and a fire emoji.

The singer-songwriter was accused of sexual misconduct and emotional abuse via an article published in The New York Times by several women including ex-wife Mandy Moore and ex-girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers. Adams was dropped by his record label and manager following the allegations.

Angry fans replied to Adams' comment.

"Says a guy that is a known DV perp. Johnny is innocent and a victim. He doesn't need YOUR support," one Instagram user said.

"Oh get out of here. You had be no godd**n right to be here. You DID abused your poor exes. You were awful," one commented.

"Yeah no bro... not the same. You still suck," exclaimed another.

"This is a win for Johnny not you," wrote one user.

Another angered user commented, "Don't jump on his victory. You're an actual abuser, gtfo."

One explained, "You are the last person to say anything when it comes to relationship issues!"

Bridgers said Adams was emotionally abusive towards her and "demanded" phone sex while they were in public. She also alleges Adams would threaten to "commit suicide" if she didn't reply to his messages. Bridgers also claims that he was naked when she went to his hotel room to give him something.

"His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time – my entire mid-to-late 20s," Moore said to the Times.

Another woman, "Ava," came forward saying Adams had phone sex with her. They also allegedly had Skype calls where he "exposed himself" to her. She also provided thousands of alleged text messages from Adams that she received from him when she was a minor.

Other women have also come out against Adams.

Adams took to social media after the article was published, "I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes. To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly."

"Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false. I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period. As someone who has always tried to spread joy through my music and my life, hearing that some people believe I caused them pain saddens me greatly. I am resolved to work to be the best man I can be. And I wish everyone compassion, understanding and healing," he continued.
