A final Electoral College projection map shows Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden ahead of President Donald Trump, with Georgia and North Carolina shifting blue.
Sabato's Crystal Ball, the projection map, is created by the University of Virginia's Center for Politics and bases election ratings "on a number of factors, including electoral history, polling, candidate quality, modeling, and reporting," according to the map.
The most recent and final projection map, released on Monday, shows Biden receiving 321 electoral votes, compared with 217 for Trump.
The map also shows several key swing states shifting blue, pushing the former vice president ahead of the 270 electoral votes needed.
According to the map, two key swing states, including Georgia and North Carolina moved from a toss-up to "leans Democratic."
During the 2016 election, Trump was victorious in both Georgia and North Carolina, defeating Hillary Clinton and eventually going on to win the presidency.
The shift to blue in both of these states come as polls have shown the two candidates neck and neck, as Election Day nears.
Two separate polls conducted by Morning Consult in both these states show Biden ahead by two points in Georgia and one point in North Carolina. Biden's lead in both of these states are within the poll's margin of error. Morning Consult surveyed 1,743 likely voters in Georgia and reported a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, while 1,982 likely voters were surveyed in North Carolina, which had a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point.
On the other hand, according to the Electoral College projection map, three other key swing states moved from a "toss-up" to "leans Republican." These states include Florida, Iowa and Ohio.

According to the map, Biden and the Democrats and projected to win 26 states, with 13 listed as "safe Democratic," six states listed as "likely Democratic" and seven states as "leans Democratic."
In comparison, the map projects Trump and the Republicans securing 24 states, as 13 are listed as "safe Republican," seven as "likely Republican" and four as "leans Republican."
While the map projects Biden winning more electoral votes when compared with Trump, the former vice president's lead has decreased from earlier this month.
On October 8, the map projected Biden ahead by 127 Electoral College votes as he was projected to receive 290, compared to Trump's 163. The former vice president's lead is now cut to 104 in the most recent and final projection map.
In addition to leading Trump in the Electoral College projection map, Real Clear Politics average of several nationally conducted polls shows the former vice president ahead by 6.4 points, less than a day until the election.
Newsweek reached out to Biden and Trump's campaigns for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
