Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher Announce Shocking Marriage Update Amid Rebel Wilson Accusations

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher posted a major update on their marriage of nearly 14 years, they shared in an April 5 announcement via both their Instagram stories.

In a shared statement, Baron Cohen and Fisher expressed, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy."

One source shared with Page Six that the Borat actor had been consulting with Hollywood lawyers since late last year, although the divorce proceedings are taking place in London, where the couple currently resides.

This announcement arrives amidst Baron Cohen's public dispute with actress Rebel Wilson, who labeled him a "massive a**hole" in her memoir Rebel Rising, recounting their time working together on The Brothers Grimsby in 2016. Wilson accused her co-star of humiliation, sexual harassment, and intimidation tactics prior to her memoir's publication, claims which the actor and his representatives vehemently deny, citing "extensive detailed evidence" to counter her allegations.

"Every day he's like, 'Just go naked, it will be funny. Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious,'" Wilson recounted in her book. "On the last day I thought I'd obviously won the argument and he got a body double to do the naked scene."

Baron Cohen, 52, and Fisher, 48, have traditionally maintained a low profile regarding their personal life and their three children. When asked why the Wedding Crashers actress chooses to keep her children out of the spotlight, she said, "It's unfair on them!" during her April 26 appearance on Lorraine, as shown in a video by the Daily Mail. She went on to say, "Kids should have a normal childhood. They should be outside playing and running around without feeling self-conscious."

Speculation about their relationship status began before Christmas when Fisher, originally from Australia, conspicuously covered her left hand in photos shared from a Monique Lhuillier fashion event.
