With all the popularity and success Olivia Rodrigo has had over the last year, it could help her sweep the 2022 Grammys, airing this Sunday, April 3rd on CBS.

Rodrigo was nominated for a grand total of seven awards for her debut album, Sour. She is in the running for Best New Artist, Song of the Year ("driver's license"), Record of the Year ("driver's license"), Album of the Year (Sour), Best Music Video ("good 4 u"), Best Pop Vocal Album (Sour) and Best Pop Solo Performance ("driver's license").

Rodrigo was featured in the Disney+ series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series where she released songs from the show with Walt Disney Records. There are currently two seasons now streaming on the platform and announced there will be a third season

However, in January 2021, Rodrigo released her debut single "driver's license" with Interscope Records.

The song was a viral hit, breaking records on many streaming services and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 along with many other charts.

"y'all have managed to turn one of the scariest most painful moments of my life into something so positive and powerful. sad girl s**t forever," Rodrigo wrote when announcing her debut single reached #1 in a heartfelt social media post.

During those upcoming months, Rodrigo released more singles—"deja vu" and "good 4 u,"—all of which reached the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 with "good 4 u" being her second #1 hit.

While her singles soared up the charts, Rodrigo scored a performance on Saturday Night Live. Shortly after, Sour released on May 21, 2021 and reached the top of the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

"Every song is so personal and close to my heart. getting to share them with people is the most special thing I've ever done in my life," Rodrigo wrote in part when announcing her album. "thank you for helping me turn all my unhappy feelings into one of the best moments of my life."

As of March 2021, Spotify announced the album has 5.9 billion streams.

Other big achievements Rodrigo received in 2021 was meeting President Joe Biden and speaking at the White House about how crucial it is for young people to get their COVID-19 vaccine. Billboard named Rodrigo "Woman of the Year" and "Entertainer of the Year" by Time Magazine. The pop singer also went home with many iHeartRadio and MTV VMA awards.

Last week, Rodrigo's documentary driving home 2 u: a SOUR film released on Disney+. The movie follows Rodrigo through the process of making her debut album along with live performances.
