A second vehicle that might have been used by former Alabama Corrections Officer Vicky White and escaped capital murder suspect Casey White has been found in Indiana.
A representative for the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed to Newsweek on Monday that a vehicle in Evansville, Indiana, might be connected to the pair. The vehicle has been described as a 2006 Ford F-150, and it was found on South Weinbach Avenue, according to authorities. Marshals are now investigating whether or not the vehicle was stolen from an area near Nashville, Tennessee, where the couple abandoned their last-known car, a 2007 orange Ford Edge.
A federal manhunt has been underway since April 29, when Vicky White, 56, told colleagues that she was transporting Casey White, 38, from the Lauderdale County Jail to a nearby courthouse for a mental health check. The pair, who are not related, never arrived at the courthouse, and surveillance video later showed Vicky White's police vehicle abandoned at a nearby shopping center. The two have not been seen since.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said Monday that the pair might have ditched the Ford Edge after it broke down. It was found about two hours from the Lauderdale County Jail in Florence, Alabama, days after the two were last seen. It had been referred to as their "getaway car" and police found that it was partially spray-painted, as if the pair had attempted to disguise it.

"Personally, I don't think it was deliberate abandonment of the vehicle, I think it broke down on them somehow and they abandoned it," Singleton said during a press conference.
Singleton said the pair could be anywhere in the country. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Casey White and a $5,000 award for the arrest of Vicky White.
Dale Bryant, a former attorney for Casey White, told Newsweek on Sunday that he believes Vicky White is the mastermind behind the escape.
"None of [Casey White's] crimes were planned," Bryant said. "They are all short-sighted, in-the-moment crimes." He later confirmed that he believes the planning of the escape was "far too thorough and too far-thinking, and that is not Casey's M.O."
Chad Hunt, a commander for the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, said Vicky White might be receiving help from other inmates she worked with during her 17 years as a corrections officer.
"She treated these inmates above par, if you will. They had a lot of respect for her," Hunt said on Sunday. "Some of the things that we have to account and sit back and look at is 17 years' worth of contact with other inmates that are potentially out now. Is that another avenue that she's exploiting? That's something that we have to look at and we are looking at."
Last week, it was reported that the pair had a "special relationship" for at least two years before they disappeared, which included prison visits and phone calls. Police also determined that Vicky White sold her home and had been staying in a hotel, and that she used multiple bank accounts to withdraw $90,000.
Casey White was being held in jail ahead of a court date on capital murder charges. He is accused of fatally stabbing 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway in September of 2020 and has confessed to the killing. Police said that he is now facing a first-degree felony charge of escaping from jail, while Vicky White, who was an assistant director of corrections for Lauderdale County, is facing charges as a suspected accomplice.
