The masterminds of Sesame Street have been doing all that they can to help kids adjust during the COVID-19 crisis. Now they're lending the voices of Big Bird, Elmo and the rest of the gang to help kids understand racism in America.
In light of the recent protests taking storm all over the country, Sesame Street will team up with CNN once again for yet another town hall special—this time all about racism and the importance of diversity. The 60-minute special, Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism—A Town Hall for Kids and Families, is set to air on Saturday.
The program aims to help parents address America's long-standing history of racism to their kids and the ongoing protests that are currently taking place all over the United States. Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Rosita, will be on hand to teach kids about diversity, empathy and how to understand people who are different while Big Bird serves as the town hall's moderator with CNN commentator Van Jones and national correspondent Erica Hill.
Meanwhile, a few special guests will also make a stop on the show to help answer questions about race and diversity submitted by families. Parents who'd like to have their children's questions featured on the show can fill out CNN's questionnaire here.
The Sesame Street town hall is set to air on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET. Families can tune into the show on CNN's website, where it will air on the homepage in addition to CNN mobile apps without a cable provider log-in. Those with streaming platforms like Hulu +Live and YouTube TV can also catch the program through their subscriptions while families with services like CNNgo and cable/satellite systems can watch Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism after the show airs via on demand.

Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism is just the latest town hall Sesame Street has collaborated with CNN for. Last week Big Bird teamed up with Hill and CNN's chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta to moderate a town hall all about summer safety during the coronavirus pandemic. In April, Sesame Street characters joined CNN correspondents, commentators and health experts to help explain a number of issues affecting families in the midst of coronavirus. And in March, the Sesame Workshop organization launched its ongoing campaign, #CaringForOthers, which kicked off with Elmo's first virtual hangout.
