Shaquille O'Neal told Kanye West said that he has "more money" than the rapper on Thursday, as he clapped back at beleaguered musician for criticizing him.
In a Twitter rant on Thursday, West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, defended NBA star Kyrie Irving has he faced backlash for posting on the platform about a documentary that is widely deemed to be antisemitic.
On October 27, Irving—who is known for discussing conspiracy theories off the court—posted a link to a documentary titled Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America on Twitter, sparking backlash from many, including the NBA and Nets team owner Joe Tsai, as well as several Jewish organizations.

The 2018 documentary is based on a 2014 book of the same title by Ronald Dalton. The film advertises itself as an exploration of how the biblical identity of Black people has been covered up by Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
Rolling Stone reported that both the movie and the book follow ideas that belong to "extreme factions" within the Black Hebrew Israelite movement that has been accused of being antisemitic, homophobic, xenophobic, misogynistic and Islamophobic.
While Irving on Thursday issued an apology after he was suspended for his "failure to disavow antisemitism," West, who has seen a major financial fallout for his own antisemitic comments, defended the Brooklyn Nets player a series of posts.
In the midst of his flurry of posts, West posted a screenshot of a headline in which O'Neal was shown to be criticizing Irving for his actions.

"They make us bully ourselves because of our business alignments," West wrote alongside the screenshot, before going on to question the balance of power in O'Neal's business dealings with billionaire Jamie Salter.

O'Neal responded to West's tweet, writing: "Believe me you don't know me like that. Worry about your business, and to quote the once great Kanye West 'I got more money than you, so why would I listen to you.' Take my advice get your family business in order. Have a great day brother."

O'Neal appeared to be referring to West's October appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, when the the rapper asked Morgan in the midst of a heated discussion about his antisemitic comments: "How much money are you worth?"
"Not as much as you, unfortunately," Morgan responded, prompting West to snap back: "Exactly, so take my advice and maybe you'll get richer. Why would I listen to you?"
After making antisemitic comments on social media and in interviews over the past month, West—whose California school, Donda Academy, was suddenly closed last week without explanation—has seen his net worth plummet from $2 billion to $400 million, per Forbes.
During his interview with Morgan, West said that the time that he had only "maybe $120 million" in his bank account. He stated in an Instagram post days later that he had "lost $2 billon in one day" amid the fallout from his actions.
In 2016, Forbes reported that O'Neal had earned an estimated $700 million over the course of his 19-year career in the NBA. The outlet reported in August of this year that he owns 155 Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurants, 40 24-Hour Fitness Clubs, and 17 Auntie Anne's Pretzels, among other businesses.
Newsweek has reached out to a representative of O'Neal for comment.
