X Factor tycoon Simon Cowell "had a tear in his eye" while fulfilling a very important role at the wedding of singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan.
Spraggan, who has starred in Cowell's hit show, wed her girlfriend Emilia Smith earlier this month at Saltmarshe Hall, in the north of England, with the television mogul by her side.
On a recent holiday to Barbados, the 32-year-old had asked Cowell, 64, if he would walk her down the aisle, which he considered "a very big deal."
Spraggan has now recalled how he supported her during her big day and how emotions were running high for all involved.

She entered the ceremony to her new song, Other Sides of the Moon, which is dedicated to her 34-year-old wedding photographer spouse.
The performer recalled her moment to cherish, realizing she was holding onto Cowell's arm, dressed in her three-piece suit by King and Allen, about to wed Smith.
"I was already crying," she told Hello! "And Simon definitely had a tear in his eye … He kept saying, 'You're OK, you're all right.'"
Cowell continued in the joint interview: "I considered it a very big deal … On the day I was actually quite nervous because l've never been asked before. And then very proud and happy and emotional."
Smith, who chose a white strapless gown by Australian label Chosen by Kyha, walked in with her father, who has been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
Spraggan took part in season nine of The X Factor back in 2012, when Cowell wasn't sitting on the judging panel.
She pulled out of the series after being attacked in her hotel room by a porter, who was later found guilty of rape and received a 10-year prison sentence.
Cowell reached out to Spraggan when she revealed what had happened in her book, Process: Finding My Way Through, last year.
He added: "It feels like we've been friends for life. Throughout the day, I was thinking even though it's been a relatively short time, we do feel like family, and we share a very special bond."
Cowell was accompanied by partner Lauren Silverman, while actor Tom Turgoose and Ru Paul's Drag Race star Bimini Bon-Boulash were also among the guests.
Spraggan and Smith had been friends for a decade before falling for each other in November.
The couple made their wedding unique, complete with ice bath, a tarot card reader and a tattoo artist.
The pair got matching inkings on their wrists of the date of their big day.
Spraggan later shared a photo of their wedding via Instagram last night, captioning it in view of her 205,000 followers simply: "Mrs. & Mrs. Spraggan-Smith. 14.6.24."
