'Sister Wives' Fans Predict Chaos to Follow When Family Ties Are Cut

Sister Wives fans have speculated there could be very dramatic scenes to come on the show.

In November 2021, TLC star Christine Brown announced that she was separating from husband Kody Brown after over 25 years of "spiritual marriage."

Kody, 53, has a plural marriage with his legal wife Robyn Brown, 43, and two other spiritual wives, Meri, 51, and Janelle Brown, 53.

Christine, 51, and Kody's split has played out in recent episodes of Sister Wives Season 17—with Christine revealing to Kody in the season premiere on September 11 that she is moving back to Utah from Flagstaff, Arizona, where the family currently resides.

Kody has come under fire from viewers in the aftermath of the breakup, with fans accusing him of dealing Christine "below the belt" jabs, and of favoring his youngest wife, Robyn.

Though the other wives are now aware that Christine has left Kody, the current season of Sister Wives was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic—and Robyn, Janelle and Meri are yet to be told of Christine's plans to move away in the episodes.

Fans of the show have now predicted that there could be chaos to come when Christine does reveal the news that she is cutting ties with Kody.

Posting on Reddit, viewers admitted that they were looking forward to seeing what they believe will be dramatic scenes unfolding.

User EggplantAstronaut started the thread by posting: "Me knowing an episode is coming up where Christine is going to tell the other wives she's leaving, and they're going to ask why, and she's going to give them a verbal laundry list of how awful their husband is and then bounce."

Another viewer, mlcbmore, agreed and wrote: "I cannot wait to watch that episode - especially since Janelle seems unfiltered now. Her talking heads and zoom call scene were great."

"That would be an episode you need popcorn and rewind again and again, if that happened. We can only hope that happens. Dang, that would be better than any tell-all," janier7563 added.

Other fans, however, speculated that Christine's announcement might not be so eventful.

One user, called yiketh098, wrote: "I don't think she'll do that lol. She'll probably mention one or two general things and leave. Christine doesn't seem like the type to lay out her grievances with his remaining wives. Maybe if any of them decide to leave, sure."

alsoaprettybigdeal commented: "I feel like she's had some coaching in 'gray rocking.' She was really good about not getting down into the nitty gritty with Kody when he was trying to pick a fight over her leaving. She was very matter-of-fact, kept her cool, didn't get into the back and forth blaming or name calling like he did.

"I think she will give the group just as much info as they need and she'll probably delve a little deeper into things with Janelle in private. She doesn't trust Meri and Robin- they're not 'safe' for her."

The fan predictions come just days after Meri posted on Instagram about making "changes" in her life while taking some time away to enjoy a vacation.

Ahead of Season 17 of Sister Wives, fans speculated that Meri and Kody may have already also split following Kody and Christine's separation.

The new episodes have shown cracks forming between the Brown family patriarch and Meri, though they are still together on the show.
