Sister Wives fans have rushed to condemn Kody Brown over comments he made about his former wives Janelle Brown and Christine Brown.

The trio have all starred on TLC's hit show Sister Wives since its first season, but the most recent edition, Season 17, has proved to be the most dramatic yet.

Much of the season followed Christine, 50, and Kody's split, but ahead of the first "tell all" episode, which aired on Sunday, December 18, it was confirmed that Janelle, 53, and Meri, 51, have both also ended their relationships with Kody.

Kody, Christine, Janelle and Meri were all in a plural marriage, and were "spiritually" wed to Kody, while his only remaining wife, Robyn, 44, is legally married to him.

All of the Sister Wives sat down with host Sukanya Krishnan for individual interviews as part of the first of three special episodes that will allow Kody and the women in his life to discuss and dissect the season that has just passed.

But it was comments made during Kody's interview, in which he appeared to compare Christine and Janelle to dogs, that have angered viewers.

During his interview with Krishnan, Kody expressed his thoughts over Janelle and Christine leaving him and how he felt he had made clear to them what their relationships would be like prior to them joining the plural marriage.

Kody originally married Meri in April 1990, before legally divorcing in 2014—but remaining "spiritually" married—so Kody could legally marry Robyn and adopt her children from a previous marriage. Janelle spiritually married Kody in 1993, and Christine joined the plural marriage in 1994.

Revealing how Christine and Janelle "asked" him to be a part of his family, Kody told Krishnan: "Christine asked to be in the family, Janelle asked to be in the family, and basically I said, 'If you want to be in the family you have to understand that you need to run your will to mine. I'm going to be the head of the family, I've got two wives I have to take care of, I have a big picture. Will you understand that, will you help me with it?'"

Kody then did an impersonation of Janelle and Christine and began panting like a dog and said: "And they're like 'yeah, pick me, pick me.' I mean, literally."

Many viewers watching the episode interpreted Kody's comments to mean that he was comparing Janelle and Christine to dogs, and were left unimpressed with him speaking about his former wives this way.

Taking to social media, many fans called out Kody for his comment and impression, expressing their disappointment over his actions.

On Twitter, one fan posted: "Just when you think Kody Brown couldn't be more despicable...he compares the mothers of TWELVE of his children to dogs. DISGUSTING. If I were one of those kids, I'd never speak to him again. #SisterWives."

As another wrote: "#SisterWives I didn't think that Kody Brown could ever sink lower in my eyes (he's uttered some despicable things on the show recently) but I was wrong. Comparing his wives to two panting dogs salivating after him made me GAG [green face emoji] What a scumbag. He has no modicum of honor in him."

"Kody just called Christine and [Janelle] 'pick mes' and compared them to dogs and yet he's not sure why he's down to one wife?? #SisterWives #SisterWivestellall," added a third.

While a fourth posted: "Kody's panting dog imitation was offensive. C'mon Kody, we all know YOU are the only dog in this mess you've created!! So proud of these women for waking up! #sisterwives."

Newsweek has contacted a representative for Kody and Sister Wives for comment.

This isn't the first time that Kody has come under fire from viewers this season and, most recently, he was called out over forgetting his son's birthday.

Kody shares six children with Janelle, six with Christine, one with Meri and two with Robyn, and has also adopted Robyn's three children from her first marriage.

During the December 4 episode of Sister Wives, Kody tested positive for COVID and reached out to one of his sons with Janelle, Gabriel, also known as Gabe, to find out how he had coped when he had tested positive himself earlier that year.

The day that Kody called happened to be Gabe's birthday, though Kody wasn't aware of this as he had forgotten, and Gabe was shown breaking in down in tears to the cameras as he admitted he hadn't spoken to his father after the hurtful incident.

The Sister Wives tell all episodes continue Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
