Saturday Night Live star Melissa Villaseñor has liked and agreed with a series of tweets criticizing her lack of screen time on the long-running NBC comedy.
Villaseñor, who joined the sketch show in 2016, has become a talking point on social media in recent weeks, with fans expressing their dissatisfaction with her patchy appearances alongside the ensemble cast.
Sports writer Jon Weisman caught the comedian's attention on Sunday, when he tweeted: "After a long absence, I started watching @nbcsnl again a few years ago because my son really likes it, and they do a good job overall.
"But the show's treatment of @melissavcomedy is simply galling, and given her great talent, has seemingly become open disdain. I can't stand it."

The America's Got Talent alum also liked a series of tweets discussing her lack of screen time on the show, including one that read: "@melissavcomedy Is one of the most talented, yet underrated and underused cast members in SNL history."
"It is outrageous," read another. "@DollyParton is everywhere lately with her best seller book (and album) Run Rose Run — Melissa could do her Dolly again! Or any of her other amazing impressions."
Villaseñor's tweet also sparked the formation of a Reddit page titled "Melissa Villaseñor seems just about done with SNL."
"I like Melissa well enough, but I don't think SNL is the right venue for her," commented one Reddit user, while a number of others opined that her true strength lies in her talents as a voice performer.
On Monday, Villaseñor thanked her army of fans for their unwavering support as she shared that she will be releasing a book later this year.
She wrote: "man i love my fans! thanks for stickin by me. planning a book tour and let me know where ya want me to go! (yes my book will be out this fall! with my art work and funny activities)."
Newsweek has contacted a representative of Saturday Night Live for comment.
Last May, Villaseñor announced in a since-deleted Instagram post, reportedly writing: "I'm not coming back to snl next year. Cause i deserve better."
In a follow-up video, the screen star urged her fans to "hold your undies" as she explained that she "had one drink" and "got too cocky" before sharing the post.
Discussing whether she would be returning for Season 47 at the time, she said: "I don't know, OK? I don't even know what tomorrow is. And my ego got too cocky and was like, 'I deserve better.'
"But, I already have better all around me and I hate that I did that because I look back at my journey at SNL and I'm, like, 'Man, I've done some really incredible things.'"
SNL premiered in October 1975, with show each still generally hosted by a celebrity guest. Many former cast members have found national and international stardom after appearing on the show, most notably Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Chevy Chase.
